Jesus Is Dead : Time For...
Albaladejo, Sanchez, Miranda due for Sept. 1st call-ups By Mike Axisa Via Joel Sherman, the Yankees plan to recall Jon Albaladejo, Romulo Sanchez, and Juan Miranda when rosters expand on September 1st, with Colin Curtis a strong possibility as well. Wilkins DeLaRosa is barely holding onto his job in Double-A Trenton, so I wouldn’t expect to see him called up to give Joe Girardi a second lefty out of the pen. Hopefully Damaso Marte is healthy by then, because they don’t have any other southpaws on the 40-man roster. The interesting situation involves the third catcher. Jorge Posada and Frankie Cervelli are the only two catchers on the 40-man at the moment, but a third catcher is a September call-up staple, especially for playoff teams that want to rest their primary backstop. Chad Moeller is the obvious candidate, but Sherman predictably opines about the possibility of calling up Jesus Montero. Personally, I don’t see it. The Yanks have plenty of options at designated hitter...
and the Dodgers pull him back. Nice try Cash
Well you shouldn't be. While there are plenty of questions and concerns over this year's Yankees, it's no different than last year. You know "last year"...the one which ended with champagne showers and a parade? I'll let Mike Axisa from River Avenue Blues take it from here...
Time to make him full time DH, fuck Berkman, fuck Posada...this guy is raking, and he has always been know for his power.
http://www.dailysportspages.com/forums/showthread.php?76908-Sign-ups I am going to start a sim league, with the help of others. It should be a lot of fun but it is only successful and fun if all the teams are filled. This will be a lot better than any redraft we have done, and it should be able to be ran smoothly. Sign up, and choose your team before they are taken!
How long have Yankees fans heard that the farm system is depleted, that it is average at best? Here are some pre-season quotes healines about the current crop of minor-leaguers for the Yankees: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/329629-yankees-farm-system-ranks-19th-most-valuable http://waswatching.com/2010/02/14/is-yankees-farm-system-the-worst-in-the-a-l-east/ Isn't the point of having a farm system to develop players AND a winning attitude/pedigree?

This article comes from the LoHud Yankees Blog... Major league rosters expand in six days. In theory, the Yankees could call-up every player on the 40-man, but that would leave a bunch of guys sitting around with nothing to do. It generally makes more sense to let most of the guys stay sharp in the International League and Eastern League playoffs — Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Trenton are both in line to advance — then make a few more moves when those postseason runs are over. That’s the way the Yankees have handled it in the past. In 2007, the Yankees added four players on the 1st and a whopping 10 more later in the month. In 2008, two guys were added on the 1st, and the Yankees gradually added eight more. Last year, six call-ups on the 1st, seven more in the next two and a half weeks. Considering the number of guys who are fairly close to coming off the disabled list, I’ll be surprised to see more than two or three true minor league call-ups on Wednesday. These are some of...

Just got out of Joe Girardi’s pregame session. There is a change of plans in the rotation. Ivan Nova will start on Sunday. Javier Vazquez will move to the bullpen. Vazquez will be available in relief beginning tomorrow. For now, Girardi said the move is for this one turn through the rotation. He hasn’t made a decision about the rotation spot beyond Sunday. via yankees blog *Well a couple of things, Nova really was impressive kid was throwing straight gas last game, he got out of 2 huge jams (a big thanks to Gardners throw out at home) with that curevabll and a good changeup this kid maybe could be something??? Now I dont know about any of you guys but this vasquez trade really sucks, He has done nothing for us and we gave up arodys who has been playing well in the braves minor league system...I guess we can't be to mad cause we got boone loogan, but If someone was to say a AAA pitcher was going to move Vasquez to the bullpen by seasons end i would of never believed...
