I suspected the numbers would be incredible. I just needed to see for myself. So I compiled, and here is what our pitchers have done over the last 41 games. Prepare to be amazed. Starters (record, ERA, WHIP) Kershaw 5-2 1.62 0.67 Greinke 6-1 2.74 1.11 Ryu 4-0 3.59 1.48 Nolasco 3-1 3.03 1.35 Capuano 2-2 3.68 1.28 Fife 3-1 1.54 1.20 Total 23-7 2.68 1.13 Relievers (record, saves, ERA, WHIP) Jansen 3-0 14 1.21 0.67 Bellisario 1-1 0 1.04 1.04 Rodriguez 1-0 2 0.57 0.38 Howell 0-0 0 0.60 1.00 Withrow 1-0 0 2.08 0.92 League 4-0 0 6.57 1.46 Dominguez 0-0 0 2.16 1.44 Marmol 0-0 0 7.20 2.20 Moylan 0-0 0 13.50 2.00 Guerrier 0-0 0 20.30 4.51 Schumaker 0-0 0 0.00 3.00 Total 10-1 16 2.65 1.08 TEAM TOTALS 33-8, 16 saves (17 opportunities), 2.67 ERA, 1.11 WHIP Relievers (appearances, IP) Jansen 21 22.1 Bellisario 21 17.1 Rodriguez 20 15.2 Howell 18 15.0 Withrow 9 13.0 League 14 12.1 Dominguez 9 8.1 Marmol 5 5.0 Moylan 2 4.0 Guerrier 1 1.1 Schumaker 1 1.0 * In 41 games, the bullpen has 1 loss and 1 blown save. Crazy! * Just for shits and giggles, eliminating Guerrier and Moylan (since they're gone), Schumaker (fluke appearance) and Marmol (because I don't like him and I wrote this so deal with it), here are the RELIEVERS TOTALS: 10-1, 16/17 saves, 1.82 ERA, 0.92 WHIP * Jansen and Bellisario appeared in more than half the games. Paco was in just under half, followed closely by Howell. * Paco and Howell allowed runs in exactly one appearance, Belli in two, and Jansen in just three. For those that are so quick to bkitch about Belli, that's 19 shutout appearances out of 21, often on one day's rest. * Jansen's K/9 is 13.3, up from 12.87 for the season. * Did I mention Paco's WHIP is 0.38? That's freakin' absurd! Fellow rookie Withrow's is 0.92. * Greinke actually has pitched in more innings than Kershaw (slacker), 62.1 - 61. Okay, to be fair, he's had one additional start. But Fife has a lower ERA, so I guess Kersh is a slacker. * As points of reference, the Pirates starters lead the NL in ERA on the season, at 3.19, while the Braves pen ranks first at 2.40. Dodgers are 2nd and 9th, respectively.
This is completely off topic here but the braves pen is scary as hell!...and they're missing their 7th AND 8th inning relievers in venters and oflaherty!
Offense has been VERY inconsistent and their a starting pitcher short of being a legit threat so I agree

Great stuff. I saw a stat the other night that said before this run we are on the bullpen had 15 blown saves in that time period. If we won half of those we would have the best record in baseball. Huge turnaround though and the pitching can easily be the sole reason we are killing it right now.
