this still irks the fuck out of me
the cards (essentially) put our best hitter out of commission and we don't retaliate?
should have put one in holiday's and/or beltran's ear the first chance we got
    whole new blue, my ass
all too reminiscent of the us not retaliating against the phils
mattingly apparently inherited that passive (pussy) mentality from being's torre's lap dog all those years
and regarding the players "liking" him... of course they do, but do they respect him? idk
he reminds me of one of those lazy teachers you had in high school who doesn't make you do shit...

    meh, just ranting:ranting:

If we can really get Price without giving up Seager, that would be crazy.

Lee, Pederson, and FedEx for Price? No way Tampa does that, right?

No way. It would take Urias + Pederson + Lee if we didn't trade Seager. Not sure I want to give that up.

    Besides, pitching isn't out problem.

This offense has made me soften my stance on the Cano idea...

    I'd need a ton of reassurance that Price's elbow isn't a problem.

    Urias is so damn special.

No I posted it because I don't believe it. Does that make it an easier a concept to grasp?
Yeah, I'm tops of the pessimist pops...
This is what I see, and have seen and lived multiple times. This is what I believe. I have history to back my feelings up, unless I'm supposed to be one of these "optimists" (I guess is that what you are, IDK?), that thinks it all didn't happen last night or in the past with the people putting togther the teams we have now and in recent past ?
Pessimism/optimism labels is just for posting replies and used for a weak "one upsmanship" thing..schoolyard stuff. To me, it's like if you disagree with Obama, you're automatically "a racist" shit. Any kind of label when an opposite opinion is expressed.
Ignorance of reoccurring recorded fact is, well...uh..you know.
    And really laughable.
I wonder why and where the expression"cockeyed optimist" comes from? Not being able to see clearly?

I don't want Price. I want Alex Guerrero, Brian Wilson back, a better backup C, and a bench capable of stepping in for starters and playing well, like Matt Adams.

The last part I would assume is best done through young farmhands at least sometime in the future. Yasiel Puig was a good example if you really think about it and obviously he exceeded the need. Until then we will be getting guys like Hairston, Punto, Skippy, Young...and most here will be disappointed.

Yeah no doubt but where? We needed a SS or CF as far as "stepping in for starters".

I really wanted to retaliated the first or second game. But in hindsight, the damage was done and it's more luck than anything to actually try to injure a batter with a HBP so retaliation would've just been a message that didn't need to be sent since they didn't hit anymore of us.

I'm thinking that the one they did hit was enough...

BZ, I'll leave you the DSP Pessimist hat, you're clearly comfortable wearing it.

I'd like us to win it all, but after the miserable start we had I'm happy that we made the monster run and won the division.

Were we thin due to injuries? Heck yeah. But that has nothing to do with a 'gloom and doom' attitude that the world is always out to get you. The world doesn't give a shit about the Dodgers, they're all trying to win themselves. If we're going to win then WE have to try harder.

Feel free to paint me as the glass half full, I'd prefer that over the eternally pessimistic alternative.

    Life's too short...
