looks like they found a way around Hibbert's trade kicker. whatever's clever. much rather have Hibbert for 1 year than Robin Lopez for 4 years, so that was a pretty efficient move.

almost like they had him stashed until they worked out their business with Aldridge.

Exactly, if Clarkson, Russell, and randle, impress then maybe we could scoop up KD when KB comes off the books. If we can find a way to trade young for a 3 and d sf we would be a complete team with a good bench, just minus a #1 option. Problem is it's not likely, and there isn't really a big time unrestricted free agent next year besides him. Màybe we can convince KD that this team, with one year of growth, minus Kobe, plus KD and AL Horford is a contending team. Its not like its worked out in OKC to this point, plus OKC is a gross place to be in all the time.

Lakers and Mavs trying to do a sign and trade to get Jeremy Lin to Dallas. Hopefully we can recoup the 2nd to Indiana.

so that's 14 guys now..one spot open and it might go to Upshaw if he proves he can handle it. they'll probably run with 14 if not.

Yahoo Sources: As Lakers work to clear cap space to sign free agents and absorb HIbbert, Nick Young is a strong candidate to be unloaded.

yeah, Swaggy could be done with Lou signing on as the potential 6th man. and BScott is probably pushing for it too. Lol

It's all falling apart for Swaggy. His fiancé has been exposed as a no talent performer and he has become a afterthought.

yeah Swaggy is outta here..they gotta clear space for Bass and that's the only way. they must have a deal in place if Bass is already committed. he'll probably get like 8M annually on a 2 or 3 year deal with a player option after the 1st or 2nd year.

No chance he is getting 8 mil/year. Even with Nick Young out. 15.5+2.3 for Hibbert. 6.7 mil for Lou, if the cap makes it to 69.1 mil, Bass will get at most like 5 mil.

releasing Hill got them to 24M in space, so they don't need any help taking Williams and Hibbert into space. that's why Williams' contract details have already been reported. they're working on creating space for Bass.

Swaggy is another 5.2M off the books + the 2.8M room exception..8M in extra space for Bass. with another 3M in space, 5M for Bass would be a win..especially after taxes. can't see it, though. 8M annually is more realistic than 5M annually for a Brandon Bass, so i still think he gets 8M.

i'll have to ask Pincus, but it looks like the way he's explaining it - the room exception in addition to that team's cap space. only for teams that are under the cap of course.

OK, it looks like the room exception is separate and cannot be combined with the cap space they'd get from moving Young. that may be why Kelly and Sacre are being shopped as well..they're actually 2.6M combined. dumping those 2 and Swaggy would put them at a little over 7.8M

Pacers are only committed to 10 players so far, so maybe they'll take Swaggy and Kelly? roughly 7M

Right now, the cap is at 67.1 million, but expected to go up a million or two. Declining Hill's option put them at just over 23. and no it doesn't work like that. You can't combine cap space + the room exception. The room exception is for solely AFTER you've used all your cap space in a year that you had cap space.
