It does seem odd that everyone is talking about Magic and Kasten buying the team, but from I can tell Mark Walter is actually our new owner.
I had a friend from Jersey call be today raving about the purchase and saying he knew I must be overjoyed( I am), keep pinching myself. We go from rock bottom shit to Magic and Kasten. I mean his perception of it all had him giddy and happy with pride in Magic and what he would do etc etc. Got me thinking how freaking big this could all be and why the Guggenheim people were willing to pay so much to get it. He agreed there would be players lining up to come with us and the endorsements for top talent would be enormous. Think about it Pujols and Fielder got the two biggest off season contracts. Mega contracts and it was Kemp who had the third largest who was on the cover of Forbes. When he called me he made reference to Kemp being the best player in baseball and this time last year he wasn't a Kemp fan. Damn Dre must be wettng his pants to get a long term deal now and pitchers like Cain and perhaps Hamel not as much can only imagine anchoring the rotation with CK. The bat will come and at least one of the lights out pitchers if not two.
That makes the impact all that greater and him all that smarter. He has caught a comet by the tail and while he may own the comet he knows it shines brighter being named the Kastens' Magic comet.
It's not odd to me at all tbh... if Mark Walter wanted everyone to call him owner, he wouldn't have enlisted Magic in his group. Magic didn't approach Walter for money, it actually happened that Walter+Guggenheim or wtv met with Kasten and then they decided to meet with Magic So, I understand why people want to say "Oh Magic put no money hes not the owner" but thats what they want and I'm cool with that
Now that Frank is finally selling, and we are getting a good group to own the Dodgers, will the boycott be over and the fans will return? How many of you have bought tickets already? Just wondering...
Pretty sure Diablo said once onwership is firmly in the hands of Magic's group, he and the other boycotters would be going to games.
I went to 2 home games last season. 7 road games. And yes, that had everything to do with Frank. Got face value from a season ticket holder this season for Dodger Stadium. I probably won't go to many games for "walk up tickets" because the team isn't very good.
Going to the series in Anahiem since I only live about 15 minutes from the big A but until it's official I'm not setting foot.
I live close to there too but I would never fucking go there. The stadium and fans there aren't worth dealing with.
thats what i've heard too but i don't think its 100% certain yet i'll wait until i hear how they divest this deal i know it makes no sense to you or is an over reaction, but i am determined this crook gets not one penny from this devil
Magic & Co. have decided to hold off on L.A. press conference until after bankruptcy court blesses #Dodgers deal. That hearing is set 4/13.
