Funny you said that. The new film is one of the most diverse films I've seen. So many different races play the characters. Problem is, the diversity STOPS at the "good guys" side. The bad guys are all white men, seriously. The one exception is the super giant white woman from Game of Thrones who is maybe the most insignificant villain in the movie and is tossed aside with the wimpiest of deaths.

    Figures.
Remember when Alex P. Keaton, a sharp, hard-working, overachieving conservative teenager always had to be set straight by his hippie parents?
The difference now is they don't even try to be subtle.
The Hollywood left tries to control the culture and it's funny when it fails miserably (the election comes to mind)

    Good point and example.
But now, all the ills that proliferate within America, and the miseries and mendacities that follow because of them, will soon become things of the past.
I am totally confident that the American dream and status will return as surely as the sun sets in the East West, as soon as President Winfrey is elected.
    Happy days are here again...

OK...the path that you wander is the path that you choose...but I know you have questioned your own drinking in post before.
Best of luck to you , but you don't stay a young, indestructible buck forever.

When I was a little boy I identified with Alex P Keaton. Especially because I could not find any other people like that. That show confounded me as a kid.
That and Small Wonder because WTF?
They had some really mature themes on that show.

Ballistic Missile Emergency Alert mistakenly sent to people of Hawaii
by Sara Boboltz | Huffington Post — 18 minutes ago

People in Hawaii received shocking media alerts Saturday morning warning of an approaching missile and instructing people to seek shelter, but authorities quickly declared the message was sent in error.

“BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII,” the message read. “SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

Shortly after, the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency and Honolulu Department of Emergency Management informed Twitter followers there was no missile threat to Hawaii.
    001.png
Honolulu mayor Kirk Caldwell and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) also said the message was a “false alarm.”

Authorities are reportedly investigating how the alert was sent. A request for comment from Hawaii EMA was not immediately returned.

In remote the town of Haleiwa, more than 30 miles from Pearl Harbor, residents were confused and afraid when they received the alert.

Some residents pulled over in their cars to alert pedestrians to take cover.

    Didnt tha happen before?
Its like when the bully raises a fist and says psyche after the prey flinches.
    .
If you flinch then the predator knows you are easy meat whenever he needs an emergency meal but cant hunt for it.

Softening the target for when the wolf loses his fangs and cant bite as well in his old age.

The only free plane ticket in america is for a one way trip to Hawaii. But you need to be homeless in the right town to qualify.

The 10th was the 2nd anniversary of David Bowie passing, today, the 24th anniversary of Harry Nilsson's.
    RIP, guys.

there is an awesome 90 minute show on the last five years of Bowie on HBO
i've only watched it 3 times i think
i love the footage of his 03/04 reality tour
saw him in santa barbara in 04 and a few months later he suffered the heart attack that lead to his 7 year hiatus before the last 2 albums
the footage of him at his last show in germany is heartbreaking as the joy of the previous footage is gone and he's clearly in pain
i remember thinking he was going to live forever after seeing him that tour and they talk about it
lot of great insight from the band on what next day and blackstar where about
i remember hearing next day after wondering where the man had been since i had seen him last
the songs sounded like a man saying goodbye and i really couldn't listen to it at the time
typical englishman when asked about his legacy and how he wanted to be remembered he say's "i'd like to think i would be remembered for having great haircuts"

Yeah, my significant other had very similar sentiments...she saw him many times over the years, and misses him terribly. Just the knowledge that he doesn't walk the earth any longer is disconcerting.
When I saw the program, his statement on his haircuts was perfect.
David was a complex dude, obviously....but, when he said " I'm a closet heterosexual", not only was it mind blowing and provoking ( especially with Iman in the background), it truly cemented him ( in my mind, anyway) as The Man Who Fell to Earth.
