If the Dodgers could acquire one player at the deadline, who would you prefer?

  1. Machado

    43.5%
  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

    56.5%

Not saying Logie is a post season guy or that he should be a regular, but he did what he did. It can't be all that easy just throwing him out like trash knowing he could help again when it matters most. He could very well suck in future post season games, but the possibility that he won't suck..

I don't know if we can just label everyone a change of scenery guy. This kid's career OBP is terrible - sub .300 over 2000+ PAs
Last year he brought it up to about .340, iirc and that played..maybe he can be fixed? Bring back whatever he did in 2017

I get that but he's never seen any other place but Baltimore, not the garden spot and he seems to be a hot weather guy. Only speculating of course.

    I like that he's 26
The more talented guys they can bring in that are in the 25-28 range, the better
Last era's MLB is truly gone..33-36 year olds are running on fumes come October..no PEDs to fall back on powering them through, so the natural prime of players is back to where it was pre-steroid era.
Another reason why Joey Votto is remarkable and one of the very best who've ever done this thing. He's like the only 33+ yr old consistently among the group of younger guys at the top of the league

I guess in saying that, should point out that Votto is having a " down year " with his .855 OPS Lol
This man's OBP is .425 in a down year. That is obscene

Well, damn. Phillies needed a catcher and looks like they found a good one, especially for that ballpark.

A trade sending Wilson Ramos to Philadelphia is “close,” tweets Fancred’s Jon Heyman.

@Doughty8 Looks like it's our old friend who elected to go to school rather than sign with LAD after being drafted, Kevin Gausman
O's have finally had enough of his shit
I'd take a flyer on Bundy if I were LAD..I dunno

Archer close to Pirates which is good for us if we're not in it. If he went to Brewers they'd be a fucking handful

braves determined to add a starter, have been working hard on many fronts, including Kevin Gausman. would be a good get for them. rockies and brewers are among others involved.

How the hell would Gausman be a good get?

Listening to the local sports radio guys talk about the trade deadline is hilarious. "Just go out and get a reliever. It's easy to get a good bullpen guy" lol. The cost of relievers has never been higher.

"Manny Machado is definitely coming back. He was on the red carpet at the all star game with no shirt on. This guy is Hollywood!" ...yeah, nothing else will be taken into consideration
