Hypothetical (hopefully) scenario. We miss the post or whimper out early. Given the fact the FUCKTARDS were acting on the <197 directive from above, do they:

    Can Dave to save face?
Does on of the GM's or Farhan take the fall?
Does AF fall on his own sword and/or publicly take the blame to spare the cheap FUX the embarrassment?
None of the above with a price increases across the board and we as fans get fucked yet again?

    Vote the poll

Status quo. Except Kershaw might now opt in.

    Fire Dave
    Nobody accountable?
Players get injured, so nerds fix it by bringing in more guys.
At some point, the manager has to get results from the players.

Dave is a fine fellow, a glad hander, a pal, a micro manager, a swell guy, a pretty damn good ex player, and an accomplished nincompoop, all in one huggable package. Oh, and fits the racial trending hiring/opportunity thought perfectly.
If the past responses to complaints about him garner "he's got us in first place doesn't he" from his supporters and he's so deserving of credit, then what is to be thought if the team relentlessly fades away again, as always, then? Doesn't he deserve the anti- credit ?
He has a very pleasant and deep voice, too...I'm sure he'll have a successful career doing voice overs.
Just say " thanks Dave, for the efforts, but we're going in another direction "...
Sure. We can lose every year with a variety of manager types.
We've proved that already, ad infinitum.
Torre, Donnie, Roberts...3×3=9 years of huge payroll, great players, league leaders, post season shot after post season shot, etc...and bridesmaids again?
Shit, we can't even catch the bouquet.

I don't think Doc gets fired, sure the Mgr is the 1st casualty but damn all the hinky shit that has been going on this season leaves me scratching my head. You cannot have this many injuries and expect to survive let alone win and Doc has this team in the thick of it. I have us buried because of the cloud of bad luck surrounding this team and I know that sounds ludicrous. Another problem with this team is that we are up against the psuedo salary cap or we would have pursued legitimate pen help with higher annually salaries. Moving a couple of starters to the pen is a good idea but since they were starters we couldn't pitch them the last few days but presumably they are available so we'll see but bottom line IMHO Dave should be retained.

For all the hell we give Roberts for some of hi admittedly odd managing choices in the regular season, he didn’t do anything wrong in my book during last years post season.

Ultimately, Kenley blew a save, and Kershaw couldn’t hold a 4 run lead, Belli suddenly forgot to hit and Seager was an automatic out. And of course Darvish shit the bed....twice.

    That’s not on Roberts.

This year we are just trending down to the mean from what was an extraordinary year last year.

I don't think all the blame should be at Dave's forehead in a sniper sight either, not by any stretch of the imagination.
Shite, we've got some world class chokers, no doubt. and repeat offenders, too. And their individual failures are on them.
I just think if we end up as we usually do, let's face it, it will be time to move on and try somebody else...he would have had three shots at it, like all he rest did...and failed.
    Like all the rest did.
Why does he deserve more ?
    Let's hire a woman !!!

If you baby your children when things are easy how will they be able to overcome their fears when things get tough?
I blame Dave for how his charges behaved at the big meet.

If you were told that you would lose Seager for the year and Ryu for some time and a few other players here and there for periods but would get Manny Machado and Brian Dozier at the trade deadline to more than make up for the injured players what would you say?
Machado isn't producing yet but he will be huge at some point because he is a premiere hitter.
Dozier always hits bombs the second part of the season and he is doing just that.
Dave has been given enough firepower to overcome the injuries.
Plus the nerds keep spit shining turds into players who can contribute for large parts of the season like Kemp and Muncy have this year.
The nerds added Dozier, Manny, Muncy and Kemp to the offense.
And tried to get a big reliever during the deadline and I have no reason to think they wont bring one in with a waiver trade.
That plus Maeda and Strip in the bullpen will Caleb Ferguson taking over the Baez spot and the return of Jansen will make this bullpen fine.
Dave should have been using Maeda out of the pen more often instead of going with 6 starters.

I have to ask if Maeda is our best overall pitcher, as I have been told many times, and last night happens in a flash immediately with him on the hill, where are we going then ?
Seems presently, perhaps, that SF is better than we thought.
They sure seem to do what they have to, whether we scoff the manner in which they do it, and way hungrier than the LAD, just like the Rox showed us they are, too. A little more slide into the toilet for us, their record equals ours. And
all these pitchers SF has that are supposed to suck so badly...idk...they sure can shut us down to a murmer. An embarrassing whimper.
Wouldn't be surprised if we are looking up at these fucks eventually.
    Not at all.

if this season ends up in the trash i will recall the reality
we had the same team basically that had just lost in the WS
the entire SP rotation hit the DL along w JT and Kenley as well as that weird spring training
Kemp was our starting LF and as remarkable as he was we all knew how it would end and he ran out of steam
Seager was out and Belli might as well have been and add to that the inevitable regression of CT and Barnes
no improvement in the BP or key positions due to the 197mil cap to stay under taxes
add to that a vastly inferior defensive catcher and a manager that well...davey
and yet we were and still are in the race no question
but like others i am resigning myself to the fact the new additions were too late and all the momentum points south
really tough to stay on top two years in a row
unless of course you're Houston idk fml
