need to get to their starters early and often
can’t be trying to play catch up against their pen
we’re clearly the better team imo
    just need to execute

They’re not very good. They have zero good starting pitching. We should pound them out the gate every game, the concern comes if we let them hang around for 5 innings then they have the advantage.

They do feel similar to the World Champ Royals though. Especially with Cain and Moose there now. Strong bullpen, meh rotation, sort of top heavy offensively and a few guys that steal some bases.

So who starts Game 1? Ryu? Kershaw? Buehler?

Kershaw's comments make it seem like it will be him, but either way, they will be on extra rest.

Only thing set is Kershaw Game 1. I bet HIll goes Game 4. How they order Ryu/Buehler will be interesting and tough. Ryu has been waaaay better at home but so has Buehler. Buehler’s shakiness against Atlanta might change the Dodgers minds to make sure he pitches at home in a more comfortable area, whereas Ryu might be able to handle the road a bit better.

I think I’d do Kershaw, Ryu, Buehler, Hill to be honest.

Small sample size (7 starts), but Kershaw has pitched better in Miller Park than anywhere else in his career (min 2 starts). Better than ATT, better than Petco, better than DS.

The Game 2 starter gets 2 starts on the road, the other starters get 1 and 1.

    homo?

    won’t happen
but i’d start ryu and buehler to open at home
if kersh gets butt hurt, so be it
opt out and go play for the rangers
do what’s best for the team, not one individual’s fragile ego
    but again, won’t happen

The confidence they showed in Buehler to finish up after he gave up the GS, I'd like to see them continue to have confidence in him on the road and send him out there in Milwaukee. Just maybe don't pitch to Yelich..not sure about that. On one hand, when you're putting your confidence in Buehler you sort of want him to pitch to everyone, but at the same time - is it good for your confidence if Yelich hits a couple bombs off you?

Yep. He sat down 10 in a row at one point thereafter.

Not sure how much the decision to keep him in there had to do with Roberts or just the whole organization's approach with Buehler because they just believe he's tough as nails, were inclined to draft him even with his Tommy John surgery and uncertainty there. I'm not sure how much they actually have to baby him

That and I think they might try to get Kershaw 3 appearances (1 & 5, then 6 or 7 in relief).

I'd go Kersh game 1 and Ryu game 2. Wouldn't look too hard at the splits for Ryu as he has started 9 games at home and only 6 on the road. Of those 6, he left after 1 inning(when he got hurt) in one, his first outing of the season at AZ where he just plain didn't have it and a game in that joke of a park in Cincy. So the numbers are pretty skewed. I do worry that the longball has really bitten him on the road. He has pitched on the road in the playoffs before and mowed down a good Cards team so I don't know if he is really negatively affected by all the commotion either. The other thing is that ATL was loud, but Milwaukee will be on another level. That dome will be closed and they probably need someone with experience in the big game to handle that shit. Buehler losing it again in an inning would probably better served to happen in LA and not Milwaukee.

Most worried about Aguilar against our LH SP and Hader blowing everyone away late. We really need to get ahead early, especially since their BP games will fuck our platoons up. Should take Wood off the roster and put Urias on

there's a large part of me that thinks that the games in LA will end the Brewers season. Yeah, they have a great bullpen but it's REALLY reliant on Hader. Jeffres is their 2nd best reliever, but he's the closer, so their bullpen is basically up to Hader to put out all fires. Knebel/Burnes/Jennings /Soria are pretty good but not elite, but with their shitty starting pitching, I really think they'll get tired in those middle games. We saw it with Blanton, Kenta, Morrow... Eventually they have a game where they just get lit up.

In reading some things it seems as if the roster changes being considered include: Adding a lefty off the bench for the Brewers relievers (which means Utley, Verdugo, or Toles? replacing Dozier), adding Stripling for length (removing Floro I assume), and adding Fields or Urias (removing Wood I assume).

A case could be made that Floro was the team's best reliever this year. Why would they leave him off the roster?
