Yes, we all have our priorities. I don't worry about dark influences so much anymore. Y'know... like one shot. My Crusades are over. Always other Templars to take up journey.
One of his best comments was to someone asking about US State surveilance on Americans where he replied that the gubberment is largely inept unless you try to get on their radar whereas the 3rd party corporate data mining is far worse and more prevalent
Does anybody have any experience with trade schools? There is a school offering a 50 week electrician program for 21k and I am gonna go meet with somebody tomorrow about it. Never really thought of being electrician before nor do I have much experience in this field but I know I'm tired of the work I do now and it will provide job and financial security. .
I hear great things. I know immigrants who learned the trade and now work at JPL. It is probably the most key 'trade' to have in terms of trading your labor for money.
idk if i would recommend a 21k course to start with since you might not like it i think you can get started in a school for a few hundred, like WVOC by me the other thing is finding an older guy working as and electrician that wants to teach you and could use the help then you're getting paid while learning i've done my fair share of electrical stuff and theres a lot of climbing in attics and under houses just saying
I've applied to an apprenticeship program in Santa Ana but I know there are other electrician apprenticeship programs in socal that I need to apply to. I worked out with one of the head guys at the union and was talking to him about pre-apprentice work but nothing has come up. WVOC, is that the equivalent to a community college? or trade school? Curious cause I would like to look into similar options around me, if there are any. Know where I can find any old guys looking for help? no homo I don't really know if me liking it is really much of a factor right now. I haven't done much in my life to learn real skills for a stable career and am not satisfied with where I'm at. Electrical work isn't a passion or anything, just a means to an end to obtain a valuable skill that I can always rely on. I do not have interest in going back to finish college, I'd rather learn a trade in blue collar work even though it will be completely new for me.
thats what i did and so far so good electrical is really cool and might develop into a passion for you it might as well be magic to most people out there and doing anything well has its rewards and yes its west valley occupational center so i'm sure there is one in your area gotta dig to find the right situation w an old guy and his business and for sure you have to have the aptitude and sense as well as a strong work ethic but if you pick up that trade and get your license its definitely a good thing to know plumbing you have to deal w shit literally and i truly dislike it lol have done HVAC work as well and its great when you just have to call in a crane and lower it on the roof its when you have to take it in the attic on your back up a ladder that gets old quick all these jobs require a certain physical stamina as well lots of bending and climbing etc. i know you had been a bigger guy right?
Was a huge fat fuck, now just fat lol Before about a month ago, I was working out 4-5 times a week for 9 months at Crossfit Lumberyard out in Anaheim and it made me love the hard physical work. Something that I had never really done. It is a big reason why I want a job with physicality in it, I am tired of not moving and don't want to sit or stand behind a desk anymore. Started training variations of 10k's daily about a week ago with intent to run a marathon in 2019. In the beginning stages so there is still plenty to go but I will get there. I was considering plumbing as well but the literal shit is what has me not so interested in that
you can get over the shit part if you want its all shit and it washes off have you ever taken a 110v shock? 220? its an eye opener for sure i look at guys i've known in the trades and i think we are some of the fittest, limber, non fat fucks for our age its just not possible in most of the true trades since they are so physical, so good choice there in thinking about it i really think electrician would be your best bet for the best pay as well but if i had it to do all over again... i would try to get w dwp or something within the city the retirement and 401k are nothing to sneeze at and they are constantly looking for help the problem w the trades in general is that there are too many people willing to give away their work thing is you have time on your side so try what you think you'll like people complain how hard it is to find a decent job as a contractor you need to find one pretty much everyday keeping on top of paperwork and being a salesman on top of the work can be daunting cause its only you

@BigDaddyKaine My dad, grandpa, great uncle and countless others in my family are/were electricians. Kind of our thing, although I didn't catch the bug. Funny @LAdiablo mentions crawling in attics/under raised foundations...that's why I was like.."nah". lol Solid trade, though. Pretty much every electrician in my family ascended to the upper-middle class or beyond. They all worked for themselves or each other and running the business is an added challenge. But I don't think you're looking to start or run a business until way down the line, if ever. If you can find someone willing to train you in lieu of or concurrent with your classroom training, you should be on your way. Best wishes and I'll be praying for forward progress in your endeavors.
this is sound advice bdk i used to work for a buddy doing electrical work huge difference between new construction vs repairs too i've encountered huge rats, spiders and snakes doing repair work and it's no picnic if you have any confined space/claustrophobia issues it's a good trade though and electricity (at least for the foreseeable future) is something where there will always be demand can be pretty good pay too if you play your cards right
Use your 21k to get yourself a job that will take you 3 months to complete and pay 21k. Hire an immigrant with lots of electrical experience for 2k a month. Hire an american jack of all trades for 2k a month. Rent a contractor's license for 2k a month. Pay your guys half upfront as incentive. You be the third man on the team working alongside either guy. That becomes your school by immersion while building your own business. Hire guys with skill and experience who may not have a license for whatever reason and learn the skills an get experience. Make a small profit and then repeat until you can get your own license. If you want a license though I suggest small aircraft. They have good courses out of San Dimas and plenty of new money wanting to be ubered in the air.
was going to put this in the mlb thread, but nah if this chick had been legitimately wronged, i would have said shame on dipoto and the m's now it looks like she's just a jaded bkitch trying to cash in by playing whatever card she can a woman scorned... Mariners' letter explains firing of Lorena Martin in court filing Associated Press — 9 hours ago SEATTLE -- The Seattle Mariners say they fired high-performance director Lorena Martin this season in part because she created a hostile work environment and ignored recommended treatments for injured players issued by team doctors. The Mariners' claims were revealed in a filing in King County Superior Court in response to Martin's lawsuit against the team filed earlier this month. The club's response was an eight-page, weeks-old letter originally filed in an attempt to have her situation settled in private arbitration, but it became public after it was attached to a motion filed by Martin's attorney. The Mariners say unnamed employees warned general manager Jerry Dipoto last March that Martin was ignoring medical advice on treatment of injured players and that she was misrepresenting herself "as a medical doctor to other MLB teams' staff." The team also said it received "overwhelming and accumulating" employee complaints about Martin. Martin's wrongful-termination lawsuit claimed that she went to team owners John Stanton and Buck Ferguson and CEO Kevin Mather as far back as March to complain about alleged discriminatory treatment. The lawsuit also says that several Latino players complained to Martin about feeling excluded and that Dipoto took midseason steps to deliberately undermine the progress and mental state of star pitcher Felix Hernandez. The Mariners have denied all of Martin's claims. "Martin's allegations of discrimination are not true," the Mariners' letter states. "No indication, much less evidence, of such was identified during the course of the independent investigation which involved personal interviews of approximately 20 individuals who were in position to know."
