Do any of you sports dweebs read Reddit?

I think that it's a time sink mostly but once in a while, amid the chaos, you see pure gold. My son turned me on to a thread AMA, Ask Me Anything, that was being hosted by a retired spook. Holy cow the answers would set @rube eyebrows on fire!! Seriously. I admit that I've seen too much to ever think that what the mainstream media shows us is the truth, or the whole truth or even a partial truth but this guys answers are so freaking awesome I had to share.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/a8c03j/i_am_andrew_bustamante_a_former_covert_cia/

Since I'm the son of a cop and have numerous law enforecement types in the family many of his answers dovetail nicely to what I knew/suspected. Other answers were.. let's say revealing.

The answer that made me want to share here was his caution about believing MSM 'news' from what he called the three least reliable sources... Faux News, CNN and NPR. I thought well howdy.. but NPR? Yeah I knew they leaned way far left but..

His answer to media was identical to mine to you guys years ago.. watch multiple disparate sources report on a topic and what they say together will piece together more of the story than any one source alone and his two BEST sources to compare news... BBC and Al Jazeera?!?! Because when those two both tell you something from different angles.. you can bank on it being something you should know.

Seriously the thread is highly entertaining

When asked about dark influences steering the world that you don't get to know about he offered...

Texas A&M and the Mormen church.

Let that soak in a moment.

As if there were truly any doubt about the dark influence of religious zealots in gubberment

Is "Mormen" a play on polygamy or just a misspelling ?

Yes, we all have our priorities.
I don't worry about dark influences so much anymore. Y'know... like one shot.

One of his best comments was to someone asking about US State surveilance on Americans where he replied that the gubberment is largely inept unless you try to get on their radar whereas the 3rd party corporate data mining is far worse and more prevalent

Does anybody have any experience with trade schools? There is a school offering a 50 week electrician program for 21k and I am gonna go meet with somebody tomorrow about it.

Never really thought of being electrician before nor do I have much experience in this field but I know I'm tired of the work I do now and it will provide job and financial security. .

    I hear great things.
I know immigrants who learned the trade and now work at JPL.
It is probably the most key 'trade' to have in terms of trading your labor for money.

idk if i would recommend a 21k course to start with since you might not like it
i think you can get started in a school for a few hundred, like WVOC by me
the other thing is finding an older guy working as and electrician that wants to teach you and could use the help
then you're getting paid while learning
i've done my fair share of electrical stuff and theres a lot of climbing in attics and under houses just saying

I've applied to an apprenticeship program in Santa Ana but I know there are other electrician apprenticeship programs in socal that I need to apply to. I worked out with one of the head guys at the union and was talking to him about pre-apprentice work but nothing has come up.
WVOC, is that the equivalent to a community college? or trade school? Curious cause I would like to look into similar options around me, if there are any.
Know where I can find any old guys looking for help? no homo
I don't really know if me liking it is really much of a factor right now. I haven't done much in my life to learn real skills for a stable career and am not satisfied with where I'm at. Electrical work isn't a passion or anything, just a means to an end to obtain a valuable skill that I can always rely on. I do not have interest in going back to finish college, I'd rather learn a trade in blue collar work even though it will be completely new for me.

thats what i did and so far so good
electrical is really cool and might develop into a passion for you
it might as well be magic to most people out there and doing anything well has its rewards
and yes its west valley occupational center so i'm sure there is one in your area
gotta dig to find the right situation w an old guy and his business
and for sure you have to have the aptitude and sense as well as a strong work ethic
but if you pick up that trade and get your license its definitely a good thing to know
plumbing you have to deal w shit literally and i truly dislike it lol
have done HVAC work as well and its great when you just have to call in a crane and lower it on the roof
its when you have to take it in the attic on your back up a ladder that gets old quick
all these jobs require a certain physical stamina as well
lots of bending and climbing etc.
i know you had been a bigger guy right?

Was a huge fat fuck, now just fat lol
Before about a month ago, I was working out 4-5 times a week for 9 months at Crossfit Lumberyard out in Anaheim and it made me love the hard physical work. Something that I had never really done. It is a big reason why I want a job with physicality in it, I am tired of not moving and don't want to sit or stand behind a desk anymore.
Started training variations of 10k's daily about a week ago with intent to run a marathon in 2019. In the beginning stages so there is still plenty to go but I will get there.
I was considering plumbing as well but the literal shit is what has me not so interested in that
