Why, bc Dee isn't there anymore and we still have Hernandez and Barnes? How many games did Hatcher blow while Dee was winning the batting title? If you recall, we needed another starter pretty bad that year too while Haren was doing fine for them.

Dee only had 1 above average offensive season since being traded (2015, the year you mentioned)...when he was on steroids. He's posted below league average offense each subsequent year. Sub-.300 OBP one season, even.

Losing Ryu killed us that season, but I don't think Haren over Brett Anderson could've saved us.

I didn't dig too deep, and this is not a perfect science, but just doing a quick search...

    To MIA

Dee Gordon: Cumulative WAR since being traded: 9.4

Dan Haren: Cumulative WAR since being traded: 0.9

    TOTAL: 10.3

    To LAD

Howie Kendrick: Cumulative WAR for Dodgers: 3.2

Kike Hernandez: Cumulative WAR for Dodgers: 6.1

Austin Barnes: Cumulative WAR for Dodgers: 2.8

    TOTAL: 12.1

James is right. Although, maybe not the best time to stat..godfather of stats is gonna stat. Can't expect much else.

But he's been about as anti-player as you can get this offseason, so he's on his own out there

We also have years of control left on Kiké and Barnes. That’s important too.

And Dee is on a team that traded all their good players and no one even wants him lol

Also, the year after Gordon won that batting title, he got popped for steroid use like the second week of the season. So there is a high probability that he was juicing that year. His other decent WAR season is heavily helped by his defense and not his bat.... So he is basically Austin Barnes at this point, but at position where defense over offense is far less valuable.

A bigger travesty, according to the stats, was Roberto Clemente winning the NL MVP in 1966 after finishing 5th in WAR.

In one playoff game, Kike completely shit on everything Dee brought to LAD in October
If you listen closely you can hear Dee rolling over with another dribbler

It was one thing to send over all that value for Dee, but to then back it up by giving him $50M Smh
Then come to find out that Tony Montana was the ace of the Marlins' staff..god bless Stanton

To be fair, awarding dudes named Dick, Willie, Sandy and Gaylord was still a bit taboo back then.

...and what about all of Hatcher's -'s and Rojas' +'s since and the Millions of dollars that went out? At the end of the day the FUCKTARDS traded an entire batting/SB title season and 10MM for one Cubs playoff game and a bunch of crushing blown saves. BTW, Had we kept Haren, we never would have had Anderson so don't forget about the 16.8MM qualifying offer that was wasted the next year on his lie!

I used to be a little delusional as well, thinking all the money would end up being spent wisely at some point but now, I know what they're all about.... I don't blame them for being Capitalists but I still feel like I've been lied to, and that sucks. Boehly and GuGG's win and we lose... again! They have WASTED well over 100M on bad contracts for sore arm pitchers and domestic violence criminals by now (Who's got the stat on that one??) so for all I know, all that is what has led to GuGG's tightness. Either way, I'm wide awake, with cable cut and very little desire to go to the ravine without free tickets and my own food!

Fun fake rumors out today that were quickly shot down.
    • The first was a rumor that the Yankees had offered a contract to Machado in the 7-8 year, 220M range. This blew up due to some out of context interpretations of something Jim Duquette said.
    • The other was that the Giants and Bryce Harper had agreed to a contract and the announcement was coming today.
Both Harper and Machado are said to be nowhere close to signing a deal. yay....

    sorry rube :poke:
    • A return to Milwaukee for Mike Moustakas seems inevitable, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, who also suspects the Brewers aren’t willing to extend a multi-year offer to the 30-year-old third baseman who has garnered little interest from other teams.

Jonathan Villar isn't quite sure what to make of this.

All true things. Everything pro the trade that folks are saying is true.
The part missing is that the Dodgers have needed a leadoff hitter for a long time.
They finally filled that void as best possible this year.

    oops, sorry again rube
    • The Brewers are reportedly the front-runners to sign free-agent third baseman Mike Moustakas, but they’re facing competition from the Padres, who have prioritized finding a third baseman this offseason, are “going after” Moustakas, according to AJ Cassavell of MLB.com. San Diego first “checked in” on Moustakas earlier this winter, and Cassavell’s report indicates the club is legitimately in pursuit of the 30-year-old at this late stage of the offseason.

Jonathan Villar just doesn't know what to think anymore.

So that's why Dustin Nosler almost offed himself today, makes sense.
