It's a shame the little girl was injured by the foul ball at last night's Cubs-Astros game in Houston.

But it's not surprising. Go to any game these days and take a look around you. About half the people are watching the action on the field. They're either engaged in conversation or have their faces buried in their phones. I also question sitting that close to the action with small children.

Just glad the young girl appears to be OK.

And is it really necessary to grill Almora incessantly? Get a comment and move on. He was obviously very upset. Fucking vermin in the press.

Racist? Why what are you? The only group I automatically detest, without reason, is Amish men. Douchebags. And fans of whoever beats us at any given time.
Actually, it was punishment for the" Royals moved to another state" crack.
Remember...I live in the area where two pro football teams play, but have a different state preceding their name.
    Thanks.

I know this is a joke, but Gordon sucks. .310 OBP when his only skill is speed. Wouldn't take him for free.

Rendon is a pending FA much like Mehchado was last season. If he could be had for a similar package...

    Hell, make it a blockbuster...

Out: May, Downs, 'nother spec, Maeda, Taylor, Barnes
    In: Scherzer, Rendon, Kendrick, Suzuki

    #NoRegardForOurNeedsOrWashington's, #JustRandomPlayers #40ManBeDamned

    @Bluezoo loves fantasy lineups:

    Pederson LF
    Seager SS
    Turner 3B
    Bellinger RF
    Rendon 2B
    Muncy 1B
    Verdugo CF
    Smith C

Bench: Pollock, Kike, Freese, Kendrick, Beatty, Suzuki/Martin

    Scherzer
    Ryu
    Buehler
    Hill
    Kershaw

Still get swept in the WS. Bullpen ERA 8.99

As soon as I heard about the mariners looking to sell-off the rest of their roster, I immediately went to BR looking to see if they have a decent reliever (I know they traded Diaz to the Mets), nothing to be found.

Hah, I did the exact same thing! Sadzeck is the only one that would be of help to our shitty pen, but truthfully I have no clue who he is. Totally out there, never going to happen trade idea... Sadzeck and Dee Gordon for Pollock, Rios, Dennis Santana and if need be Connor Wong as well. Get out of the stupid Pollock contract two years earlier and make Gordon a UTL player for the rest of the year or spin him for someone else. Gives up interesting prospects that are having down years, but are moveable due to MiLB depth and if Pollock ever gets his shit together, the Mariners could flip him down the line.

The Keuchel/Kimbrel rumors are going to heat up here now that their draft pick compensation has been removed. It does not appear that either of them are on the cusp of signing anyway.
    • Early indications are that the Dodgers are not making an effort to sign Craig Kimbrel. Naturally the Dodgers FO is notorious for keeping their interest levels quiet to the public, so don't start leaping off bridges just yet. There have not been too many surprises in the the standings now that things are beginning to settle, so it does remove the mythical mystery team. Though teams like the White Sox, Padres and Diamondbacks that are kicking around, could pose as risks somewhat with multi-year bids since they may feel they are turning a corner. The Cubs and Braves are believed to be the two strongest pursuers, while the Phillies, Twins and Rays are all looking for a closer and are viewed as threats as well. If you'll also remember the Cubs were not an option in the offseason as they were "out of money". For those that have not been paying attention or have heard, Ben Zobrist is apparently going through a very messy divorce that has caused him to leave the team. This has freed up some money since he does not get paid during this time and there are indications according to Jim Bowden's inside sources that his season may be over. From the way Bowden explained it, most of his 12.5 M contract starts coming due later in the season. He is said to want to close, but maybe the chance at a ring is more ideal.
    • Dallas Keuchel is apparently no closer to signing today than he was a couple of months ago. Reports the other day were that his demands had come way down, but those reports were quickly refuted. Other contenders are wary of signing a guy that has missed a huge chunk of the season and cite recent examples of how this method hardly if ever works out. The Yankees are said to be the best candidate to sign Keuchel. If this were to happen, it would pose an interesting problem for the Dodgers in a potential WS meeting. The Yanks rotation consists of lefties James Paxton, J.A. Happ and CC Sabathia already, with a lefty closer in Chapman as well as Zack Britton, the Dodgers could be in matchup hell. Granted, both teams need to get there first. Keuchel is not a rumored candidate for the Dodgers at all since they already have a rotation full of soft throwing lefties.

Baez has been pitching well for a while now. Yimi, Kenley and even Kelly have looked better at times lately. Floro has struggled, but that could be from overuse. Urias looks better when he comes in to start a clean inning. But Alexander and Stripling blow.

I would be okay signing Kimbrel to a one or two-year deal. I don't care if Kenley gets butt hurt, the front office has to do what's best for the team. Problem is I see someone like the Yankees or Cubs being willing to offer more years, and while that would be a long-term mistake in my opinion, it would definitely help this year and possibly next.

Should start calling teams and kick the tires. Ask the Mets about Gsellman and Lugo, and the Nats about Doolittle. I'd say the same about Conley and Guerrero of the Marlins, but the Fish always try to screw us so fuck that.

Cingrani's loss is huge. Yes we're up a ton in the standings. But that will only get you so far. Our bullpen has some serious issues, and I'm not confident the current group will be straightened out as we head into the postseason. Baez is seriously the only one I have faith in right now.

All 4 should be able to contribute at some point this season. White and Santana are the two closest to being MLB ready with Gonsolin's injury likely meaning he is a bit further away from being able to contribute. May has hit a speed bump for the first time in his MiLB career and it is happening at AA, so they will likely give him plenty of time to work things out. The problem for all 3 of these guys are that the club has specifically kept them in starters role's, only Gonsolin has shown he can handle relief and that was a couple of years ago. So if the Dodgers need help with the relief corp, they are going to likely want to start transitioning these guys here soon, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense from a development standpoint. Santana is already closing in on his IP from last year, so he makes the most sense to do so maybe in a few weeks and cap him around 100-120 IP. His upside is not where any of the other 3 are as well which makes more of a case for him being the guy. Both White and May at this point need to be kept in starter roles at this point as they need to be able to build up their innings. White needs to surpass 150 this year or get as close as possible to that number, while May should be able to get closer to 180. With their front of the rotation upside, it would not be beneficial to cut down their innings before they get closer to those numbers. I could see Gonsolin getting to 150 innings as a starter and then they bring him up as a reliever. Granted, if and when someone gets hurt this will all get thrown out the window, but as of now this is likely the plan.
