think i would actually prefer playing the brewers
    the nats bullpen is terrible
but you're going to have to face one of stras/max/corbin to start every game
    that's a tall order

Im thinking its time for a comeback though.
    A movember type of thing.
Dodgers bats need some love from Jobu this time.
I will do my part by getting fit to inspire Kenley, stay away from dairy and snack bar favorites in solidarity with Corey for making the sacrifice (except during Dodgers games) and shave the beard weekly and keep the hair high and tight in honor of classic Dodgers WS legends.
Hopefully it please Jobu to strengthen the bat of Cody again to its previous power and grace like it was blessed before.
I will do it all October and as long as the team is still playing and Jobu's avatar on earth Joc Pederson is starting vs RHP.

It’s hard to see the Nats losing with Scherzer at home.

Granted, only 1 quality start in his last 8 outings... but 14 straight QS’s before that. Rooting for the Brewers, maybe they get the bad Max.

max has honestly been pretty damn bad since mid July. Lots of 4-5 inning starts with multiple runs.

i really doubt we’re gonna see a great, 6-8 inning Scherzer performance and luckily for us, I predict the game turns into both teams using lots of their best pitchers

Holy shit, the Nats just released their roster for tonight's game 9 pitchers on the roster including 4 starters. They are preparing for the Brewers to use multiple relievers throughout the game. This is kinda fun.

Stras and Max are not the guys I am crazy worried about, it 's Corbin. He absolutely owns us to a count of 2 ER's in his last 5 starts against(since the start of last season).

    Fun post
But I'm rooting for Milwaukee and for every good player to get injured

corbin will probably pitch a max of one inning today. Pitched 90+ on Saturday. If Nats win, he’s game 1 starter

I’m hoping they use Max AND Stras today.
I’m predicting a brewers win though. Nats are chokers

I have not watched the Nats a lot, but someone on MLB radio was saying that the Nats offense is abysmal against off speed pitching and really only eat up FB heavy guys. If they fall behind early, they could be in a lot of trouble with that Brewers pen. I'm interested to see what the Brewers look like tonight as they may also be minus Cain as well now. Fully expect Yasmani Grandal to become superman.

    Yes, this.

Dodgers need to step up and finish it for a change. It starts with Roberts - he needs to lead them, whether by decision making, motivating, or whatever. I always think of those three Gnats championships as involving a boatload of luck in at least two of them, but really what they had and the Dodgers don't was Boch. I always suspected this, and last night I looked it up and confirmed: Take the Gnats regular season run differential from 2010, 2012, and 2014, add the three numbers together, and it is significantly less than the Dodgers run differential from just this year. Point is, those teams were weaker, but they stepped up on the biggest stage, because they had the right leadership. I want to see the Dodgers stop uncorking champagne every time they win a division or a divisional series, and instead keep that game face on all the way through. Roberts, it's time to stop being everybody's friend and instead ride some asses to get the most out of your players.

the regular season is cause of the players and the postseason is cause of the manager? I get it but also, idk, our dudes should stop choking too. IMO the regular season is more important for a good manager cause there’s so much more to deal with and playoffs their decisions are obviously huge and important but nothing matters if the players perform. Seen plenty of bad managers make bad decisions and the players pull through. But we’ll see

Alex Cora and Joe Maddon both suck. But their players came through
Roberts does shitty things, but Kenley and Clayton choked and the entire team hit like .190 in the WS.
    Players gotta step up

Yup! And now he has accumulated enough WAR in 3 seasons with the Nats get to the halfway mark of what he did in his last season with the White Sox!

I know people don't like hearing this, but Roberts is generally regarded as one of the best managers in the league by the players. The media has a different view of him cause of all the platooning he has done in the post season and that drives the old school guys nuts. I don't agree with every move he makes, but watch some other teams play and really invest time and energy into them and you will think more highly of Doc. Boch always got a lot out of his players, but come on the dude also had 3 headed monster pitching staffs with Lincecum, Cain and MadBum in their primes and bullpens that were generally pretty dominant. Every year they also had some rando go absolutely off in the playoffs and that happened once for us in Charlie Culberson... which was only so impactful. We don't have a WS title thanks to the likes of Kershaw, Jansen and Darvish folding in the biggest moments. Fucking Bumgarner lives for these moments and over the course of his career, Kershaw hasn't. People on here give Buehler all types of shit for the way he carries himself which I just don't get. You want the guy leading your staff to be a dick and say the things he does. He shoved in Game 7 last year and the same in the WS, I'll take that and the attitude cause that is the type of one you are going to need to win a WS.
