I have a hard time believing that. Maeda for the Twins prospect doesn't scream essential. I mean what prospect would you have given up for a Maeda level pitcher?

then why include the twins, seriously?
if they had a equivalent prospect, why not just ship him and hold onto maeda?
no reason to otherwise even involve them
btw the twins prospect supposedly throws 100mph

The Twins prospect is ranked #83 in the top 100 prospects on mlb.com. Ruiz and Gray are ranked higher, and the Dodgers can probably make the trade work with one of those guys. Ultimately, the Dodgers want to hold onto them and would rather trade Maeda to clear out salary. Likewise, the BoSox are trying to shed salary, so would rather have a prospect.

I’m sure there is a lot of interest for Maeda across the league. He has an amazing team-friendly contract and 4 years of control. Anyone not playing at the margins to stay under the tax threshold should love him... I’m surprised the Angels aren’t jumping all over him.

Rosenthal reporting it is in fact the Twins prospect that has shitty medicals. Verdugo cleated. Should get done, will probably just be a little different.

he’s also saying it is Joc, Strip, and Pages for Renigfo (or wtv) and another spec. Don’t like that deal if that’s what it is

    Perfect answer.
    I agree 100 percent.
I guess my point is... Is this a problem that has a solution?

From what I hear, the prospect we got is a diamond in the rough. I trust the FO when it comes to judging prospect talent.

The report this morning is that based on the medical review for Brusdar Graterol, the Red Sox now project him as a relief pitcher instead of a starting pitcher. It’s expected that they will ask for an additional player or money to bridge the gap in value. It is not clear if that will come from the Dodgers or Twins, but officials strongly believe the deal will still happen.

    Muncy's back according to Rosenthal

Infielder Max Muncy in agreement with #Dodgers on three-year, $26M extension, sources tell The Athletic. Deal also includes a $13.5M option for a fourth year or $1.5M buyout.

Love that they signed Muncy to a long-term deal.

On to what I was gonna say, I don't really buy the concerns over Joc's arb number etc, I think the whole thing is tied together, if the Mookie deal falls apart they aren't trading Joc & Stripling.
