    Nobody cares about PEDs.
Its a bad example to use PED's.
But no child ever saw Barry Bonds injecting himself.
The media that hated him made a big deal about it and so the situation exploded leaguewide.
If not for them no child was going to be seeing any bad example about steroids.
And it had to be explained to them how it may be cheating.
But all children understand what cheating is when they can see it.
    And everyone saw them cheat.
And get away with it scott free.
THAT is the bad example being set.
    By little man fredo.

You could do a lot with a bag of hammers.
Like find a bag of nails and hit on them.
And leave the bags of screws to the flatheads driving miss phillips.

Another reason why all their suggestions for punishment should be ignored.

If they really want this league to sink to the bottom of the ocean, they'll allow themselves to be led by - as Fred G. Sanford would say - a bunch of big dummies

Someone just posted that Kershaw threw 31 sliders in Game 5.... 1 swing and miss. That’s downright unheard of. Sooooo much bullshit

I don't think Ortiz (I'm not calling him by his stupid nickname) is correct in calling Fires a "snitch."
However, he does have a point. Fiers got his ring, bonuses, etc...and NOW he speaks out?
I don't know all the facts.
    Just throwing it out there.

TB is staying true to his brand.

In reality someone is probably going to have a season like the one TB projected for Seager. Someone will get a nagging injury, try to fight through it, then get shutdown early. It’s inevitable.

There are reports that he tried telling MLB sooner and they ignored it, but there is no indication that he told anyone while he was a member of the Astros. So on the bravery and ethics scale what he did is good, but hardly anything to praise him over. Still, miles better than anyone else on those teams, so there’s that.

100% though, he should have to give back his bonus money and he should be suspended along with the rest of the team for knowing about it.

    • Corey Seager had an interview with the OC Register. There were some interesting things in it. Apparently last year his non-dairy diet caused him to lose too much weight and he was back to where he was in HS. He also mentioned that a lack of knowledge caused him to lose more than he wanted. He was able to get on a better diet and unlike offseasons of recent past, he was able to work on proper strength training instead of rehab. He has his weight back up, but it is more muscle now and more in line with what he was in 2016-17. I would not be surprised if we some of those doubles turn into HR's as he is said to be up 10-15 lbs over last spring.
    • There was a piece about Lux in The Athletic and how he handled is first call up to the big leagues. He admitted that last season was too easy for him in the minors and he took that for granted when he got called up to the big leagues. When he got punched in the mouth, he said he tried to do too much instead of slowing down and letting the game come to him. Just like he had done in MiLB before that and before he knew it, the season was over. This offseason he spent the winter in LA living with one of the Dodgers players and was working out at DS everyday with the club. Last year he was only allowed to come out for training once a month with the big club. He says that he is a lot more comfortable now in the clubhouse and thinks that this offseason should allow him to have a stronger year in 2020.
    • The Times had a piece on new acquisition Brusdar Graterol. Roberts mentions in the article that their understanding of his medical records are that the issues are benign and asymptomatic(think Kenta Maeda's medical red flags). The club has no intention of using him as a starter at this time, but they are not ruling it out down the road. They want to see how the year goes with the club keeping a close watch on him and monitoring his workload. He has looked good in his first two bullpens and is showing some more feel for his changeup. If he can make it up with the big club, he would be one of potentially 3 relievers that can touch triple digits in our pen. One thing I will be interested to see if the Dodgers work with him on his release point as it varied somewhat last season and I know some folks think that could be a reason for some of his issues. Also, his nickname is "La Makina" which is Spanish for "The Machine". This should make all the old Sasha Vujacic homies happy.
    • The Dodgers have Urias slotted in for the #4 spot in the rotation. He said that he hopes that the team lets him do his thing this year and not hold him back in years prior. He feels he can show everyone why he was one of the top prospects in baseball again if the club can just let him be him. This is one of the things we forget about with this rotation. It is VERY iffy on the surface, but they have a bunch of guys that have monster ceilings.
    • The Dodgers have selected their opening day starter, but are not announcing it just yet. The players know, so I am guessing this is going to be Buehler. If it was Kershaw, it would have been announced already and this reminds me of the playoffs the last couple years where Kershaw did not start G1. With that said, with the way the bullpens are lined up, Kershaw IS looking like the opening day starter.
    • Tony Gonsolin will be first on the bump in tomorrow's Cactus League opener.
    • Jimmy Nelson threw his first bullpen of the year yesterday and it was said to have gone well.
    • Dustin May also played catch for the first time yesterday since being shut down with soreness in his side.

Re Graterol's nickname......El Gran Gordo might be more appropiate.

Hoping this is the year they finally take the bubble wrap off Urias.

Thinking possibly the best under radar acquisitions of the offseason might be Nelson and Treinen.

I want to see a ST game with May-Baez-Treinen-Graterol-Kelly-D Santana-Sheffield-Alvarez in some order. Those are all our hardest throwers and it would just be a fun game to watch. If Treinen gets right, that is not a small acquisition by any stretch as he is only one year removed from being arguably the most dominant reliever in baseball. There could be some serious smoke coming out of the pen this year.

Treinen's stuff was mind blowing two years ago. Very, very few throw that hard with that kind of sink.
