Wood looked pretty good again. 3.1 with 3 H, 4 K's and a "earned run". Pitch count got run up thanks to a couple of miscues by the defense, but the team has to be liking what they have seen from him early on. 1 of the hits was a sun triple and then Tatis bunt singled him in, which... ok. Having the old Wood back could be a dynamite addition as throughout his career, when he is right, he is HARD to hit.

He has been REALLY impressive this spring and velo looks to have ticked back up, but I am basing that solely on sight as I have not seen any numbers. One thing about him last year with the big club was his velo was not working where it usually did in MiLB. He was at 94ish, then down to 93. That is a far cry from the 97-100 he worked at in relief in 2017 and 95-97 he was supposedly at in 2018. Not to mention was not locating his pitches all that great. The thing about Gonsolin is, like Gray, he was an athletic two-way player that has not been concentrating on just pitching for long. Ever since he came up, he has improved in some facet until 2019 where an early injury could have been holding him back. It is also why both he and Gray and have high probabilities to be mid-back of the rotation starters, but also have higher than usual chances of reaching their ceilings, which are front of the rotation types. If Gonsolin gets his control down, he could be a dominant force.

I know he is having a good spring, but Barnes' bat still looks slow to me and he continues to miss very hittable pitches. I said this a year ago, it really feels like he is thinking too much when he is up there.

DAMMIT!! If Gore is hauling ass the whole time he has that easily. All I have wanted was to see him get the chance to cut loose and I was not rewarded.

Quicker than Ruiz. I don't know what is going on with Ruiz' swing but it looked waaaay different than last year. Not in a good way. Less wrists it seems.

The team has spent the spring re-building his swing from the left side to get a better launch angle. It is why we just started seeing him this week.

People really forget that he was a top 10 MLB player before the injuries. Since he is finally healthy, I predict that he will be the only player in MLB to catch the Coronavirus.

Today's games have been cancelled due to weather. With MLB play being suspended starting tomorrow, it may be a while before we see these guys out there again.

This whole thing sure puts the Mookie Betts acquisition in a unique and precarious light.
The fortunes of the LAD...what a long strange trip it's been.

The season is cancelled, Mookie becomes a Free Agent and never dons the blue in a game.

On paper the Dodgers are set to have an elite, if not historic, season. It's been the cleanest Spring Training in recent memory, very few or mild injuries, and most of the key question mark players looking sharp. Things were looking right as right could be.

Not heartbreaking enough for what we are used to.

    • Season starts 2 weeks late
    • MLB shortens the season to 135 games
    • Dodgers proceed to win 103 games
    • Mookie signs a 10 year deal at an incredible $270M bargain and has a 50-50 season.
    • Bellinger breaks Bonds record and hits 77 homers (at one point late in the season takes an at-bat right handed and hits a homer)
    • Seager hits 78 doubles, plays incredible defense at SS all year and impregnates 12 different women during the season
    • Buehler goes 23-0, striking out an incredible 388 batters
    • Clayton Kershaw retires 1 week into the season
    • Max Muncy homers off Bumgarner, in which the ball lands into the AZ pool and proceeds to tell him to "get it out of the pool."

3 days before the postseason is set to begin, COVID-20 strikes and is even worse then COVID-19. The entire human population is wiped out except for Kike Hernandez.
