2 Cardinal players have tested positive for COVID and today's game against the Brewers has been postponed. Getting this season through is gonna be a trip.

This is like a marriage where each party is talking about divorce. How do I get invested in this season today when I don't know if my bank accounts are going to be emptied and my clothes on the lawn tomorrow?

@JeffPassan-BREAKING: MLB commissioner Rob Manfred told MLBPA executive director Tony Clark on Friday that if the sport doesn’t do a better job of managing the coronavirus, it could shut down for the season, sources tell ESPN.

Feels inevitable that the season will be cancelled at this point.

none of those players are going to die from it
something has to lead us out of this cowering in place thing
every expert and doctor i've heard says it has to run its course and that means people will catch it since its not going to magically disappear
it would be a nobel thing to continue on and continue to protect the elderly and infirm
but w a spineless commissioner like manfred i think you're probably right

meantime every one of us needs to go buy supplies amongst myriads of other humans in costco, hdepot etc.
baffling how they couldn't keep it under control at least

Here is what they should have done...
    • Modeled the NBA bubble and played all games in the Phoenix area.
    • You have 10 major league capable ST stadiums and Chase Field right in the metro area. Set up two teams per site (22), 2 teams to Tucson at Hi Corbett (24)
    • Next you convert the fields at ASU, Grand Canyon University and one of the local community colleges to playable MLB ballparks. I would guess that would entail upgrading the lighting, maybe adjusting the fencing and putting MLB groundskeepers on the sites(30).
    • 7 games a week, played 6 days a week. Every Monday off and Double headers every Sunday.
    • "But CKWG, it is too hot to play in Arizona in the summer!" Correct! That is why the season starts September 1 and ends on November 19th. 110 game schedule, no travel days except to and from Tucson.
    • No stupid playoff format and no games off in a series for travel. WC's November 21, DS (Best of 5) Nov 23-28th, LCS (Best of 7) Dec 1-8th, WS (Best of 7) Dec 11-17th.
    • Pitchers and Catchers report Mid March 2021 as do all players. Season start mid April, 148 game season.
    There, fixed it for you.

They should be taking the treatment the doctors are using.
It gives you nightmares for a couple of weeks but after that you are immune to both SARS and Malaria.
Covid is 79% SARS combined with another infection that gives you one pathogens symptoms in places the that the other one is able to reach.
The Malaria drug is taken by many for other reasons.
My aunt has been taking it for decades because it helps with the water retention in her kidneys and legs.
I looked into taking naltrexone years ago in extra low doses and was really tempted.
It looks like hydroxychloroquine in tiny amounts with zinc and an antibiotic seems to be a cocktail that is curing people.
There is 64M doses of this drug at the CDC.
In Mexico they are super cheap.

fucken manfred is just like newsom
(for those outside calif that’s incompetent governor newsom)

    newsom:
“because californians have failed to exercise proper safety regarding covid, all beaches will be closed this weekend"
8 hours later… newsom announces california's beaches will remain open

    manfred:
“the season will be shut down if (covid) continues (getting worse)…”
12 hours later… “there is no reason to quit now (despite positive coronavirus tests that have led to the postponement of 17 games in 10 days).”

    flip flop much?

John Kerry must love this shit.

Yoenis Cespedes a no show at the Mets game in Atlanta today. The team has been unable to reach him, they don’t know where he is.

    evidently not...
    • The Mets believe that Cespedes' safety is not currently at risk, according to multiple reports.

The latest round of coronavirus tests from the St. Louis Cardinals are, in the words of someone with the team, "not good." There are expected to be multiple new positives, sources tell ESPN. Cardinals took more tests this morning, and results of those should arrive by tonight.

Well the national guard has gathered it's troops and started to push them together for join training as new large scale military divisions.
    Essentially the American Frontline Legion.
Which means anticipation of an invasion.
Ccp have all the supplies they need as they own our supply train overseas and have tons of companies in America that they own for supplies and support.
Some people know what's up before the rest of us.
    And they wanna flee.
Wonder what Puig is up to.

If the season ended today, we would host the Marlins in the first round of the playoffs. Too soon?

Random thing I was thinking about after the last couple of days of opt outs... I wonder if vets on teams that are doing shitty will A. start opting out left and right, B. will use the opt out option to demand trades.
