Yeah, I think we were a day late and a dollar short on this signing... particularly considering how well most of the rest of the pen has pitched.

Very interesting...not that he is a prophet, but Russo makes a valid point in picking the Mets over LA to win the pennant. They have better starting pitching for sure, without a doubt. Assuming all factors are healthy, Buehler,Urias and Kershaw are not equal to Max, deGrom, etc. Just not as good. Way not.
...and as a rider to the whole thing, 31 out of 48 games LA has played were against below .500 teams. S9me way below.
Like the one that we shit the bed against last night.

11 of those (I believe it is actually 41) are against the Diamondbacks, who are 2-9 vs the Dodgers and 22-17 vs everyone else. Dodgers are 6-1 vs +.500 teams. Dodgers also won't be playing many of them because there are only 5 other teams in the NL above .500

I don't see how it changes anything at all about the point of the stat I wrote. They still are beating below .500 teams in the majority of wins, and what those teams do against others is irrelevant.
We'll see what they do soon enough...i.e. Mets, Astros, Brewers, etc. If they continue as they are now, then that stat I wrote about, will be rendered moot. I sure hope so.
Like ragging on Freeman 's Gold Glove calibre and highly respected defense for years.

It's only irrelevant if you want to push a dumb point across.

Kiss my ass...no reason to go off and insult me. What are you, the voice of baseball knowledge ? Never saw the game like you do, never will, and real glad about that...and your Freeman rant wins the dumb trophy, since you mention it.

Fine then I'll use your choice of words. Your concern is "irrelevant" until the Dodgers face those teams and actually lose to them, but right now? They are 6-1 with the 1 being a 1 run game in an extra innings rule bunt/sac fly loss. You are literally complaining about them beating the teams on their schedule.

As far as Freeman? Those defensive numbers aren't as good as you think they are. They aren't high caliber (1 career gold glove, -8 career dWAR, zero years grading positive defensively).

    Chief, you make fine points
But you needlessly insult your own friends on here for some reason.

Dude basically said what I said was irrelevant then brought up something from another thread to rag on me more and I'm the one insulting? There are things that trigger me and that I word is near the top.

Didn't write that what you wrote was irrelevant. Everyone has a right to have their own opinion on this bipolar team..
It's a baseball message board for crissakes.
I feel that what the teams we beat ( or have beaten) do with other teams is irrelevant and doesn't change those facts that we' ve played lower tier teams, and have the record we do because of that fact. To me, apples and oranges. That's all.
    I don't tell people they're irrelevant.
In the scheme of things, imo, nothing was changed by your stats. For me. You got a " like", so good for you.
Did it ever cross your mind that your so- called trigger is a hair trigger ?
    Y'know, the "I" word.
So, as a result, you insult the other person's intelligence ?
Do you put it in the same category as the N word ?
    Juuuust a bit outside...

Kershaw to throw rehab game this weekend
by Brook Smith | Dodgers Nation — 3 hours ago

The Dodgers should be very close to getting some important pieces back into their starting rotation. Clayton Kershaw and Andrew Heaney have both been out for a decent amount of time, and that has resulted in Los Angeles needing to piece together some starts over the last month or so.

But help is absolutely on the way. Clayton Kershaw is now scheduled to pitch in a rehab game on Sunday. Dave Roberts had said this past week that the Dodgers southpaw would be making a start at some point this weekend.

As it turns out, that will be on Sunday in Rancho with the Quakes taking on the Lake Elsinore Storm. Roberts had previously said that ideally, they would like to get Kersh in there for 3 or 4 innings and have him throw an additional inning in the bullpen.

Kershaw appeared in 5 starts before his back issue shut him down. In those 5 starts, he went 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 30 innings of work. That includes him throwing 7 perfect innings against the Twins before being removed early, something Dodgers fans won’t soon forget.

But if the Dodgers can get him back to being healthy, that should really help out their rotation. They’ve had to rely on guys like Mitch White, Ryan Pepiot, and Michael Grove to get into games with two starters down.

Curious to see how they handle the rotation when both Kershaw and Heaney are back. Kershaw will obviously start, but how do you move Anderson to the pen? Seems to me Heaney should be headed to the pen.

forgot about Heaney but that would be awesome if he were to come back and perform
haven't given up on White either and Pepiot is going to be solid going forward
think they should explore what kind of return they can get for Price soon if they haven't already
