    roberts on may...

“It’s not just about stuff. It’s something he’s got to continue to learn and understand. That’s why the radar gun can be misleading at times. The velocity was there. It’s been there all year for him. There’s a strike quality, getting ahead, a component of when you have a hitter in a leverage count you have to put him away. Trying to bully guys – which I think at times he’s guilty of with the four-seamer – gets to be too predictable.”

Someone noted during the telecast of his last game that May was among the worst in the game at throwing first pitch strikes.

    he's horrible
guys seem to have figured out how much his pitches break, so if it starts in the zone they let it go
no one's swinging anymore at the pitch that broke 3 feet on machado
time for him to make some adjustments

also, and maybe it's just me...
but his little hopping/jumping tantrums after giving up a hit/bomb irk the fuck out of me

Glad I haven't seen that yet - it would irritate me for sure.

Dodgers need to bring CK back next year and not let him sign with Texas or any other team. He needs to retire in Dodger Blue. First of all, he's five wins shy of 200 and about 200 K's from 3000. Want to see him reach those milestones in LA. The wins can happen next year, strikeouts may take two. Secondly, he's still a very effective pitcher - one-two on this team with Julio in my book. Third, every season we begin with a plethora of starting pitchers and then end up dipping into the farm or stringing together bullpen games - there's never too many starters. Fourth, he's simply a major plus for team morale. And lastly, I think Clayton's willingness to do one-year deals is extremely team-friendly. Bring him back AF!

I have a feeling , Gallow gets one last hurrah. There's still Alberto, Crazy Joe and Miguel for the last playoff spots, unless Outman miracously appears.
Knowing Robots , Hanser will be definitely one, based on the fact he salivates over experience, although he hasn't hit well.
    Should be interesting.

other than cheering and closing blow outs hanser has been a zero contributor
last time i checked you don't get a job for being nice...at least not a playoff job

hanser and pillar can still cheerlead in the dugout
but (and despite me liking both of them) there are better options for postseason spots
that said, kimbrel and bickford can stay the fuck home
last thing we need is two cancerous pariahs upsetting the mojo

Uh...I didn't say he might be on the roster because he was "nice"... my point was with Roberts, experience goes a long long way, even over talent and results. What's logic got to do with Roberts ?
All year long we watched Kimbrel shit the bed, players have great games or series, then get sat and ride the pines.
Is Gallo not a prime example of this...regardless of better production from others ?

If he's into a hot RBI period, I sure hope so...I'm usually told that they're not not as important as, blah and blah, but if you get more RBIs than the other guy, you win...

Mets/Braves tied for the NL East after the Braves beat deGrom last night.

Who would you all prefer to face in the NLDS? The runner up for the NL East will be slotted in the 4-5 matchup and more than likely face the Padres. I would be pretty surprised if the Padres beat the Braves or Mets.

The Mets 1-2 punch of deGrom-Scherzer mixed with an elite closer is scary but the Braves have been on a tear in the 2nd half and have the much better lineup. Kind of a pick your poison situation....I think the NLDS will be a bigger hurdle for us than the NLCS.

Gallo simply can't have any high leverage ABs in the postseason. Nice little tryout but he failed. He has 51 Ks in 105 ABs as a Dodger and had 106 Ks in 233 ABs as a Yankee.

Not going to move runners over or get a sac fly. None of the little things with the guy. Hard pass

    bitter much?
go fuck yourself you wannabe gangsta

"A 60-game season, it's still hard to judge to this day. Like yeah, it's a World Series, right? Yeah, they got a ring. But they didn’t play any games at their home field. They didn't. There weren't any fans there. It was 60 games. Anyone could ball out for 60 games. That extra 102 is a big difference. They won it, it's a true one, for what we call it. But I still call it as I see it, it's still a 60-gamer."
