I would be fine with Beurle (sp). Harang is interesting. At Petco, I could have an ERA of 2.0.

I have to say that I am worried about our recent delve into all things defense at the expense of offense. Right now our lineup is

    Gordan
    Ethier
    Kemp
    Rivera
    Loney
    Uribe
    Ellis
    Ellis
    P
    --------------------------------
IMO, that lineup...oh what is the word....blows.
Ethier hitting two is the only real option. He is the perfect guy to hit 2. Kemp should hit 3 but Rivera should be hitting 5th or 6th. Uribe should be hitting 7th or 8th. Ellis (catcher type) will walk more than our previous power threat. Gordon is a work in progress. Not exactly worth getting excited for. I think Ned could have gotten K. Johnson and R. Doumat for a few dollars more. This team does not inspire greatness. Ned is a moron. If you are going with speed and D, then get players that exemplify those traits. But, it seems we are going with mediocre and overvalued. Yay.

    yeah that lineup is shit

our only hope is Lilly pitches like he did the 2nd half, Bills gets more consistent and we retain Kuroda
with a solid rotation in this division, we're contending

this year was weird. dbacks were crazy hot, and the dodgers got better once they stopped playing shit players

Unfortunately, we signed (and will continue to sign) a new batch if shitty players, so we revert back as the Ned cycle continues.

    You wanna know whats garbage...

4.5 million to Ellis when Sellers could do the same things...Great defense, below average hitting.
4.5 million to Rivera when Jerry Sands would put up the same numbers and continue to improve.
8 million to Uribe when anybody would do fucking better.

What a waste of 17 million dollars. Imagine putting that money towards Reyes, Pujols or Fielder...We'd almost be near the 20-25M annual asking price. I even think Reyes would go for 6/105.

    Gordon 4 Reyes 6 Ethier 9 Kemp 8 Loney 3 Sands 7 Ellis 2 Sellers 5 Pitcher 1

Yes!!! Saito gets injured a lot but we have the minor league depth to deal with relievers going down... Sammy being back would be awesome

If he did sign Saito, I'd be willing to give up cursing at Ned for at least 2 weeks. All good LAD fans must be willing to sacrifice something.
Ned is talking to Jeff Frances, I read? He just can't get away from guys like this....this kid was a talent once, but it's gone- his body let him down. Might as well go after Dontrelle , too, with the stupid wind-up and delivery. We need our Garland/Padilla tandem signed right away for 2012.
Just FYI: I heard just now that Christy Mathewson, pitched 390 innings one season...and had 42 walks. Mind boggling.

I want Saito too. I can also go for Jeff Francis, not if it's in place of Kuroda, but over Eovaldi and Eveland, definitely.

I'm right there with you. Unfourtunately, it seems like we would only sign 1 of those guys.

I really can't even begin to understand why we're looking at Harang. His road splits were horrendous last year.

Looking at Francis his numbers are actually pretty good, I can deal with him, I love that walk rate.

If we don't get HiKu, our rotation is in trouble because these others guys are way below his level.

We should've gone hard after Lowe and traded for him; perfect fit for us. He's a vet, plays well in LA, eats up innings and will only be paid $5M by his new team. Ned is a fucking moron for not going after him.
