The sanctions are done after this year, right? If so, no more excuses... USC will be better with a full draft class NEXT YEAR.

USC is still the top program in So Cal. It would take 10-12 years of this bullshit to give UCLA a sniff at what USC 's program is today.

Just like UCLA basketball, except the USC BB program is much farther behind UCLA.

Enjoy this 3 games streak while you can gutty little Bruins, the Trojans will be back...

Actually this year and next year will arguably the hardest hit by the sanctions. But after next year, watch out. SC is likely to land the nation's top recruiting class this year and by 2016 i think we start the real return.

As I mentioned before, 2017 will be the first true year we are back at full force with a balanced roster.

    Fight On!

Yeah it'll take a bit longer then next year for USC to get with it.

But if USC and UCLA have national hype at the same time and are both at full strength, that sucks for everyone else since southern California is a hot bed for talent and these kids will have 2 near by schools to choose from

    well said
usc and ucla both being good/powerful is not only in both school's/program's best interest
it helps the entire pac 12 as well
can you imagine if we were #1-2 (or even top 5) every time we played?

This will happen once in a while, but for the long run best to bet on the Trojans.

Not unless 7 win Sark wins more. Nobody knows the future to say that for sure but history is on your side of the argument. Having said that kids these days go to schools who have coaches with pro coaching experience which in my view the reason that Mora has been catching up recruiting wise. I'm not sure if it has become easier or harder to get into a UC school or not or even if there is a large difference in the GPA requirement anymore but SC has had that advantage in the past. I'm just glad we have won the last 3 and now it's on to basketball where the streak will continue!

7 win sark won 9 games last year and could easily do the same this year

Pete Carroll was 6-6 in his first year, obviously different ERA of USC football, but chill.

It's really not about Sark or Mora. The USC program over the last 20-30 years puts more players in the NFL than most programs accross the country. Sark has been part of that tradition and he understands what made Carroll successful.

Mora has done a good job playing the underdog roll during a down time in the USC program. In the next 2-3 years, that will change. Look for Mora to find a perfect opportunity in the NFL as USC rises back to its proper place in west coast college football.

    Sent to the LA Times:

As season five of USC’s sanctions comes to a close, what has UCLA accomplished in the years its main rival was on NCAA-mandated life support?

Have a 10-win season? Once, USC did it twice.
Finish with the best record in the PAC-12 South? Once, just like USC.
Win a bowl game? Once, just like USC.
Upset a top-10 team? Once, but USC did it twice.
Be ranked AP #1? Nope, but USC was.
Be ranked in the AP top-10? For four weeks, vs. USC’s eight.
    Win the conference championship? Nope.
Play in a BCS bowl? Nope.
Ban the USC Drum Major from stabbing the field in 2012? Yes!
Plant the UCLA flag midfield at the Coliseum in 2013? Yes!!
Deface the ASU logo in 2014? Yes!!!
Send an injured walk-on receiver to “protect the logo” last Saturday? Yes!!!!

Clearly, the stand-out accomplishment for UCLA football in the five seasons it had a chance to dominate the PAC-12 South was “protecting the logo.”

When will the banner-raising ceremony for the “Undisputed Logo-Protecting National Champs 2012, 2013, 2014” be scheduled?

Through all the salt, that's almost funny and yeah, true.

But if you don't think the past 5 years has been a good start of a run for UCLA, then allright. What this time has done is made UCLA relevant in football. Gained it some credibility. USC fans LOVE to simply compare with UCLA, but if you look around: the past 5 years has made the P12 a fucking powerhouse and USC has much more then UCLA to worry about like they do. At first, it was simply cool for UCLA to just be better then USC. Now, it's still cool but shit's been tough cause Oregon is the powerhouse it is. ASU/Arizona/Stanford have been on that national spotlight with other teams on the fringe. UCLA hasn't made it close to Oregon's tier of stuff, which is where USC use to be, so yeah, they've failed in taking a huge step and it'll take a lot more then winning the Pac-12 South to be worth a damn. We aren't elite or some sort of dynasty in any regard. It honestly doesn't really hurt me when USC fans try to talk down on our accomplishments these past five years as far as a lack of trophies/championships cause I know damn well we haven't won them so I'll never say UCLA has accomplished something grand other then gaining some credibility, being one of the better P12 schools, and hopefully starting an upwards trend.

The other thing UCLA being relevant in football is make the school even more well-rounded in sports overall. Whereas, UCLA couldn't say anything about football and had to rely on basketball+other sports, we now have some credibility in football to not be talked down upon too much. UCLA isn't a basketball school, or a football school, or a baseball school. It's a SPORTS school. Whereas, USC has football as its focal point for its sports fans and they haven't had much to brag about. Unless you still think Andy Enfield is gonna turn around that program

Oh, and as for the logo thing: It's not our fault we have more pride to not let other teams shit all over our logo. If USC people care so much about it, then protect it, like we did. It's fun school rivalry. USC protects that ugly Trojan thing on campus, we protect our Bear on campus. If one school slips up, then they get fucked over.

Actually quite the opposite. Superior teams with history never compare to inferior teams ala Lakers to Clippers, Dodgers to Angels, UCLA Bball to USC Bball.

I will be as un-biased as I can in this.

I believe UCLA has done a good, but not great job since Mora got to the school. However, I think next year will be the true gauge because I genuinely think Hundley won them 6-10 games almost single handled over the past 3 years. He is the reason they have been solid. I am curious to see how they look next year without him. In my honest belief, they take a big step backwards and that will be hard to rebound from. I had gauged 4 losses for them this year and it is still very possible for that to happen. In my book, that is solid, but nothing special.

USC, as I've stated many, many times before, was hardest hit by the sanctions this year and next year will be the second worse year. However, since they will be forced to play soooo many young players, I think the time really starts to look good by game 9-11 or so next year. 2016 will be the gauge for Sark. It'll be the third year that his coaches and systems will have been there and the second full cycle of 25 rides that would've come in, which is a plus plus because it'll be his second and a half class of taking kids for his scheme and because there will be 50 young studs on the team.

With regards to the P12, they got better because of the TV contract and because of the USC sanctions. The contract allowed and afforded schools to go after big name coaches, increase spending on facilities and to get more national exposure. The sanctions have had a trickle affect all the way down to every team in the P12. Every year, at least 10 kids who would've come to USC didn't. Hell there are a number of kids including Fitts (no longer with UCLA because that scumbag Mora cut him), Vanderdoes, Duarte, Clark and Massington, just to name a few, who are at UCLA only because we didn't have room. As UCLA and others get these kids, kids that should've gone to UCLA go to Colorados, Utahs and Washington States of the world. As such, the argument can be made that all teams, in some way have benefited from this.

I really think that USC will be in the national title hunt in 2016 and on. My eyes are on that year, but I think 2017 is the best chance we have.

As it has been pointed out numerous times we live in a time of what have you done for me lately. I don't mind SC fans being biased or try to minimize what UCLA has done the last few years it's understandable but I sense that SC think they will automatically be a powerhouse now that the sanctions are done. Will they recruit well yes but so will UCLA, but I am betting on Mora to get the most out of his team than Sark but time will only tell. I'd like to challenge USC fans to come out and support their other teams. I see 1st hand where they disappear when basketball season is going strong and only rely on football to thump their chests about.

Just like when SC dominated the most recent past we as Bruin fans deserve to crow. It's 3 in a row!!!!!!! I can't wait until next spring to see what personality we are going to have given that we have basically 3 different type of QB's vying for the starting role.

What does that have to do with the fact that it's 3 in a row? There could be a 100 reasons why that is a sad fact but it's still 3 in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Winner winner chicken dinner!
