That's not even counting his defensive metrics or power numbers. This guy is a lock.

    Fuck you :mcdouche:.

I have two answers to your post, you may choose either.

    a) Obviously players banned from MLB can't be in the hall.

    OR

    b) Pete Rose doesn't have 3,000 hits...he has 4,000 hits.

Personally I like (b) because it sounds more snarky.

That commercial where Pete's wife yells at him for being in the hallway cracks me up. It also reminds me that Pete has a smoking hot wife and is rich as hell. I have zero sympathy for him.

And that is probably why he won't wear Dodger Blue for the HOF.

If by inconsistent, you mean hit at least 20 HRs in 10 of the 13 seasons after his 22nd birthday, with 2 of those 3 where he didn't get 20, he had 19 HRs, while also having at least 75 RBIs in 12 of those 13 seasons, then yeah he was very inconsistent. He'll also be the first player that I know of in MLB history to be inconsistent and still reach 3000 hits if/when he gets there.

Sarcasm aside, to put it in perspective, aside from his final year in Seattle where he was really bad (and injured), his worst season after his 22nd birthday for HRs and RBIs 19 HRs and 75 RBIs respectively. If a 3B had 19HRS and 75RBIs this season, they would have ranked 7th in MLB 3Bs in both categories. That means that Beltre at his worst puts him in the top quartile of MLB 3bs. That's at his WORST. Throw his better years in there, plus the amazing glove work, and you have a strong HOF case.

My mom met Pete Rose and he gave her a hard time about naming me after Nolan Ryan instead of him haha.

He's certainly had a long fantastic career and I'm not saying there's no case to be made. But with regards to the hall he should not be judged by his 3b contemporaries, but rather the overall talents in the game. Before getting to Texas (a hitters haven) he only had two years out of 12 that you could call "elite". No rings, no MVPs. If he has say two more years like he's had since 2010 then I'd probably be convinced but I'm not yet.

How many autographs did he try to get her to buy?

Sorry to be a spoil sport but why this thread? He won't retire until 2016 at the earliest and then he'll be waiting another 5 years after that. No offense TB. Substitute Piazza for Beltre.
