    Chicken Fires are back.

I've stopped eating some fast food. I feel a lot better. And my bank account thanks me. Although I'll still eat In N Out.

Like I can't imagine going to McDonalds. It's not even an option for me. Chipotle is fast food for me now. The very worst I will do is King Taco tacos in East Los w/ an horchata... which I just had right now ayyy

I'll keep you in mind for the gift cards when I do spring cleaning. I think they are just $5 cards.

Protein is good for you, and meat is a good source of protein. Meat also has cholesterol, fat, lacks a lot of vitamins and minerals, and is harder on your digestive system. I'm not a huge anti-meat person, but I've been avoiding it more and more, and feel better for it. The truth is, a lot of food has protein, and if you avoid high sugar, oil, processed foods you will get more protein than you ever need with or without meat.

I don't like to call myself vegan because it sounds like a bad word, plus I still treat myself to non-vegan foods because they taste amazing (especially cheese [IMG]) , and it's better to be flexible in social settings. But I have a small book of vegan recipes I'm collecting, and do consider myself "mostly-vegan" ATM. I also stick to organic foods when convenient.

Abu Daooh's husband died while she was pregnant. Daooh spent the next 43 years disguised as a man so she could take jobs to feed her child. The Egyptian government will be honoring her sacrifice, Al Arabiya Net reports. Daooh spoke out about her story last year on local television networks.

Daooh, now 64, dressed in traditional Egyptian men's clothing so she could work polishing shoes and doing construction. "I preferred working in hard labor like lifting bricks and cement bags and cleaning shoes to begging in the streets in order to earn a living for myself and for my daughter and her children," she says. At the time, it was very difficult for women to get jobs, especially any kind that involved manual labor. "To protect myself from men and the harshness of their looks and being targeted by them due to traditions, I decided to be a man," says Daooh.

Even though her daughter, Houda, is now married, her husband is ill and cannot work. So Daooh continues to polish shoes to support her daughter and grandchildren. It's because of this that the Social Solidarity Directorate of Luxor is giving her the "Woman Breadwinner" award. In response, Daooh humbly said, "Thanks to everyone who has helped me. I hope to see Egypt in a better situation."

Never in America..........People here would have just taken all the handouts they can get and acted like it was owed to them instead of making a minimal effort.

I really only go to McDonalds, Del Taco, and In N Out for fast food regularly... I rarely find a near Burger King, and I don't like Carls Jr or Jack-In-The-Box much.
