    • The Dodgers are, unsurprisingly, the only team Fangraphs’ Kiley McDaniel lists in the “(almost) anything is possible” category. By not signing Yoan Moncada, the Dodgers retained their ability to spend freely in the 2015-16 market, and it seems the team will go far beyond its $2.02MM bonus pool limit. The Dodgers are rumored to already have agreements in place with Yadier Alvarez (for $16MM), Dominican center fielder Starling Heredia ($3MM) and Dominican shortstop Ronny Brito ($2MM).

Dodgers Claim Daniel Corcino, Designate Ryan Dennick
By Steve Adams [April 17, 2015 at 2:08pm CDT]

The Dodgers announced today that they have claimed right-hander Daniel Corcino off waivers from the Reds and designated lefty Ryan Dennick for assignment. Strangely, the Dodgers had just claimed Dennick off waivers from the Reds two days ago.

The 24-year-old Corcino formerly ranked as one of Cincinnati’s top 10 prospects, according to Baseball America, but his career hasn’t taken off the way that the Reds had hoped. Though Corcino made his Major League debut last season, posting a 4.34 ERA with a 15-to-10 K/BB ratio in 18 2/3 innings, he never built on the strong 2011-12 Minor League numbers he compiled.

how about that. Nerds are on the loose Lol

Corcino is a good claim. The Reds shouldn't have let him go

Leave it up to the Cubs to do the worst possible job handling what may be their best prospect in decades.

First they mess up his call up and then his assignment back to the minor leagues (I know why they did it, doesn't mean they should have done it).

Then they call him up and immediately put him in the clean up spot. Great job on a rooks psyche.

And of course he goes 0-4 and the fans boo him.

    Gotta love Chicago.

Why not just move him all over the BO and then switch him to multiple positions in the infield/outfield. Make him a pitcher.

Dirtiest slide I have ever seen injured Alcides Escobar then he was chirping his mouth after. Caused the benches to clear as Escobar was laying on the ground.

IDK about the move to the minors, seems like it was prudent and made sense in the long run...but I don't blame the Cubs for putting the kid at cleanup...Madden makes out the lineup, right? And this is the guy we (or many of us) were disappointed we didn't get when we thought it was a done deal when Friedman came on.
Madden is the one who put the kid in that spot... and Chicago's fans are as bad as the Phillie fans...and Madden should know it.
The kid was cool with it all anyway...I watched his post game "press conference"...pretty mature about it all.

Kemp hits his first HR as a Padre. Good for him.

    Now win the game, Cubs.

Well, yeah, sure...and for the life of me, I don't know where this kid gets that kinda power.
I mean , he's not an imp or anything, he's a good size and all, but as Irish wrote in another post, he has Mantle/Jackson type measure to some of his shots.
    Incredible.

And he's 22. Unreal, really. He's yet to face a pitcher younger then him
