How's he going to lift those In N Out burgers with his opposite arm? Those fuckers are huge.

He'll put on twenty to twenty-five pounds the next year.

That clause changes everything. It takes value away from the Dodgers side.

Hyun-jin Ryu Undergoes Season-Ending Shoulder Surgery
By Steve Adams [May 21, 2015 at 1:23pm CDT]

Dodgers left-hander Hyun-jin Ryu underwent shoulder surgery today that revealed damage in his labrum, manager Don Mattingly told reporters, including J.P. Hoornstra of the L.A. News Group (Twitter link). The labral repair surgery will end Ryu’s 2015 season without throwing a pitch, though Mattingly told reporters that the team’s expectation is that Ryu will be ready to pitch in Spring Training 2016.

Yeah but he isn't going to be traded.

I don't see it happening. If they want a solid starter, they have to give up youth. Ethiers contract won't get that. Even if they eat 80% of his salary.

Lifting those burgers is probably how he fucked up his shoulder in the first place

Dodgers in the mix for Cuban prospect Eddy Julio Martinez
Posted by: Vincent Samperio | Dodgers Nation — 2 hours ago

It seems as if the Los Angeles Dodgers are linked to a different Cuban prospect each and every week.

Since the signing and emergence of Yasiel Puig, the Dodgers have been aggressive in the Cuban market, maybe to a fault. While Puig and now Alex Guerrero have contributed to the big-league club, Erisbel Arruebarrena was just suspended for the 2015 season for failing to comply with his contract. The team is waiting for Hector Olivera and Pablo Fernandez to be ready to help the team as well. They were linked to Yoan Moncada and Yoan Lopez, but appeared to be saving their international spending money for the next signing period beginning on July 2.

According to Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com, the Dodgers are linked to yet another Cuban that will likely sign in this next signing period:
Martinez has drawn a comparison to a former Dodger, although not at the point the Dodgers signed him:
Jones was signed by the Dodgers to a two-year deal worth $36 million and was released after a season in which he hit just .158 in 75 games. This isn’t the correct comparison however, as Jones was one of the best center fielders in the game when he was with the Atlanta Braves and finished his career with 434 home runs.

It’s been rumored that the Dodgers already have a deal in place with Cuban pitcher Yadier Alvarez, and they are expected to spend more money because they will face restrictions after exceeding the spending cap.

This is big. Many believe he's the best pitcher in Cuba. Short right-hander but will get significant bank.

Sources tell me top Cuban RHP prospect Norge Luis Ruiz, 21, has left the island and will be seeking a Major League contract. #Cuba

With Dodgers' plan to smash through their int' bonus pool with a deal for Cuban Yadier Alvarez, they are the early favorites for Norge Ruiz.

The pitching talent the Dodgers are amassing is frightening. Julio Urias, Grant Holmes, an ascendant Jose DeLeon, Yadier Alvarez. Ruiz, too?

Marlins players fail to show for charity event
by Steven Wine | Associated Press Sports — 20 minutes ago

MIAMI (AP) -- Mired in a seven-game losing streak, Miami Marlins players further disappointed their fans by failing to show as advertised for a charity event.

The organization had said players would attend the event to benefit the inner cities baseball program. When no players showed, fans complained on social media, and team president David Samson wasn't happy either.

"I'm disappointed no players were there," Samson said before Friday's game. "Win or lose, what we do in the community matters most. When you have a commitment with the community, you've got to do it. The job doesn't end at the 27th out."

The event was Thursday evening at Marlins Park and began 3 1/2 hours after the team lost to Arizona, completing a four-game series sweep. Player attendance was optional, but some players who committed to go did not show, Samson said.

The group absence raised the suspicion players were protesting the recent firing of manager Mike Redmond, who was replaced by Dan Jennings. But reliever Steve Cishek said the losing streak simply left the team in no mood to socialize.

"For this to look like we're upset with the managerial change, that's not the case at all," Cishek said. "We have DJ's back. It was just bad timing. Everyone is just fed up with how we've been playing."

Samson also said the players weren't protesting Redmond's firing.

"I think it's solely that we've lost seven in a row and we're playing terribly," Samson said. "I get it, because I'm grumpy also."

Jennings attended the event. He also blamed bad timing for the players' absence, saying he wished the event had taken place during a seven-game winning streak.

A handful of players attended the annual event in 2014. Jennings praised the players' efforts in the community throughout the year.

"I hope our fans will cut these guys some slack on this event," he said.
