Awesome win today, but I will say that I am really worried about Joc. Getting booed at home and he looks beyond both lost and frustrated at the plate. He, like Puig, wears his emotions on his sleeve and you can see he is affected by all of this at the plate right now. Don needs to give him the Angels series off to get his head straight... if that doesn't fix it, then a 10 day stint in OKC may need to be in the cards. Just needs to get his confidence back and he'll be ready to go.

Didn't watch the game, but nice to see we scored double digit runs.

I'm no hitting expert but it seem pretty obvious that when Joc swings as of late he ends up looking at Davey down the 1st base line.

His swing mechanics cause him to be a low percentage long ball hitter. He's got to shorten up the swing in a way that does not reduce his bat head speed. Otherwise, that long swing is going to have holes all over the place a god pitcher will exploit all game long, and you're seeing that now as his average drops and in situational hitting, ie, sac fly situations, RISP situations, he's a liability.

Plus that home run derby, like it has done to a lot of hitters that participated, only made it worse. It encouraged his bad habits.

Major league pitchers are in a class above, and they've seen Jocs danger zones and weaknesses. He's got to learnd to adjust, before he loses his confidence at the plate.

In a strange way, Puig has had the opposite issue....he used to have a low average, but high power HR swing. Then he changed last year to a higher average, base hit swinger, with less HR emphasis. Now he's a bit mixed up what he wants to be cause he isnt hitting for lower or average.

Both these guys have talent, but what the heck is McGwire doing?

Let me just say the dodgers FO doesn't give a fuck how much Joc strikes out as long as he hits 30 bombs and plays good D in CF. None

His defense is his calling card no doubt but his recent swings would seem to me to be fixable. Wonder if they have ever considered telling him to get a lighter shorter bat.

Damn, good to see we won this one. Looks like Bolsinger put in a solid performance, and the pen was terrible yet again. Good to see the offense show up, ESPECIALLY Puig.

Yeah, you're probably right as rain about this , Chris....but that doesn't mean Mac or somebody who actually knows how to manipulate a bat and change his 2 strike approach shouldn't try and help this kid. You can see it killing him, and it's counter productive and flat out stupid not to attempt to improve this talented kid. Why not try and make him all he can be?
Fuck the "I'll be satisfied with another Adam Dunn" BS.
    That's backward thinking.

Bolsinger was hardly solid, I think at least 2 men reached base in all 5 innings, so really, he was lucky.

Idiots at certain coaching/managing spots? Like Puig looked like he was standing outside the batter's box... he was so far away from the plate. He is a sucked for a slider, and they let him get either further away from ever having a chance to hit it.
    Someone fixed that, thankfully.

Ah, fair enough. Just quickly glanced at the box score. Regardless, I'll take it.

    Wow...I assume you know.
So, I come away with either Mac is a poor teacher, or Joc is a bad student, or life sucks, then you die. Because he looks worse to me.
Glad it made you lol though.
Out of curiosity, didn't you post recently that you "would do nothing about Joc's swing- leave him alone"? Incredibly...
Or maybe it wasn't you, since this seems like a 180 to a degree.
