Sorry, but this guy lost me when he said Joc was probably "average-ish" in the field.

Very true....I thought about the same exact thing after my post, but didn't reply...maybe because he boxed around a couple that were on the ground...but on flys, he's da bomb.
To tell you the truth, I don't feel Rollins has been so bad either...he makes the plays when he has to...if I think about Hanley or whoever there instead, they pale in comparison.

Rollins isn't the worst, nor the best. Hanley would make Izturis (at his current age) look good. My two cents says J-Roll is exactly what he is, an aging veteran growing old semi-gracefully.

League and Wilson are still out there.

Wilson, I thought was as done as burnt toast...but League had actually pitched pretty well before his demise...if I remember correctly. He is as good as any RH we have except Kenley, IMO...and the DFA frenzy the FO went on may have been a little premature with including League, I've always thought.
I don't believe they've made any moves that are better than he is, actually.

I might be wrong, but I believe that in Brandon's rehab appearances in the minors he looked horrible and was topping out in the high 80's. His latest injury might have been career ending or at least need a lot more time to get his velocity back

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the bullpen but I can't think of someone I would have wanted to DFA or option from the current bullpen to make room for Rodney, who has been horrible.

You are partially right, he was topping out in the high 80's, but the dude allowed 1 ER in 10.2 innings.

Well Rodney has an era less than 1/3 of what Johnson has as a dodger. Not that jj would throw an era of 20.00 all year but maybe a change of scenery with hopes of the postseason wouldve done Rodney good. He had pitched in some big games in the past. Oh well...

Arbitrator rules against Barry Bonds in collusion case against MLB

    • Associated Press
NEW YORK -- An arbitrator has ruled against Barry Bonds in a collusion case stemming from his final season in the majors.

Major League Baseball was informed this week that arbitrator Fredric Horowitz had ruled in its favor.

    CBSSports.com first reported the decision.

Bonds had sought compensation after no teams would take him following his final season with San Francisco. Bonds hit .276 with a .480 on-base average and 28 home runs in 340 at-bats for the Giants in 2007.

The career home runs leader with 762, Bonds turned 43 during his last season. He later offered to play for the minimum major league salary but got no offers.

Bonds has worked as a guest instructor for the Giants in spring training since his playing days ended.

A month ago, after a steroids pursuit that lasted nearly a decade, federal prosecutors dropped what remained of their criminal case against Bonds.

Laughing my fool ass off still... Fuck Bonds

Never overlook the ability or resources of well paid bkitches when you make them look bad

suuuuuure he's an independent arbitrator... suuuuuuure there was no collusion... with those stats?!? 28Hr's and a .480OBP???

same damn thing when Carl Crawford was shunned at the height of his player value years ago

    No collusion at all

... in the rich old boy MLB owners picnic of a world...

    Hottest batter throughout August?

(Including only those with more than a single AB)

...one Zach Greinke hitting 4 of 8 with 2 HR's... gotta love it

more surprising was that 6 of top 20 hottest bats in August were Dodgers

    hunh?
    Greinke
    Latos
    Kendrick
    Ethier
    Utley
    Hernandez

    How'd that happen?

I honestly really thought he had a case. He may be a major douche but he was producing him last year in the majors.
