Probably because he can still play and is always in really good shape. We'll see. They could just be putting his name out there to do him a favor and drum up some interest around the league. Kobe is probably pushing for MWP tho

Show Randle the ropes possibly. Toughen him up a little.

Yeah Metta is old school thug.

Having him the past couple years would have made no difference in how badly the Lakers sucked

that said having him as a short minute "D" addition could be OK.

And he will absolutely throttle anyone that messes with Kobe, which used to be OK but right about now Kobe could use someone messing with him other than Old Man Time.

Most likely this....Metta would help cut out all the bullshit when it comes to guys like Nick Young

and that reason alone holds value.

youngsters need to grok the value of a solid work ethic... and probably already view Kobe as 'that crazy old guy' who worked himself so hard he broke himself... twice

MPD...Metta Police Department. He can still play tho too. A lot of people forget that he averaged 12ppg/5reb in his final year with LAL. Shot like 35% from the 3pt line and played good D at both forward spots as well. His skillset along with his brute strength is still a problem for a lot of forwards in the league. He just got caught up in the post Dwight/Kobe injury/JR Smith/Lakers/Knicks bullshit.

    Yes this.

MWP hurts people innocently... ...like an old world thug

    Well stated.

Just got to thinking about my last post and it occurs to me that NO ONE currently playing in the NBA comes close to the old Bill Laimbeer, Rick Mahorn Dennis Rodman "death to those who enter the paint" mentality except...

    MWP

Oh sure there are good defenders but how many are feared??

Unfortunately, guys like Laimbeer/Rodman/Mahorn wouldn't be able to play in the league today. It has gotten so soft that they'd be ejected and suspended from just about every game.... you get a T for just breathing on LeBron.

Raiders with that Sunday Night NBC action against the Cards this week. The RIP Trent Richardson game. Dyer is getting that backup job, hopefully. Talent has never been a question. Anytime you break one of Bo Jackson's records in college, you got the juice.

Coop givin Pat Peterson the bidness

    2INTs for Nate Allen

Really happy with what I saw in the first half aside from settling for too many FGs.

Raiders D looks good. Carr and Coop need more time to click.
