    Let's not forget that Chris Coughlin took out Kang about 2 weeks before season end and NOTHING came of it. This sure as shit sounds like squeaky wheel management. Kiss my ass Torre.

    a kinder gentler game would only allow for one out per play thus ending the need to be so frantic about breaking it up
    lets get rid of the dp and a hbp should result in the pitcher being suspended at least a year
    we need to placate the dithering masses of concerned ninnies

    in fact some of those nasty faces these relievers make are fairly disconcerting
    and what about the beards?

    'Xactly what I said. Holliday drew a bead on Scutaro, went right for him,...he had room to go around. Utley was on the outside and Tejada spun into him.

    No, no, NO!

    You miss the point entirely! It is the SLIDE that is the culprit, not the DP. Remember, it was the slide that maimed the good kind Buster Posey and now it has claimed another victim, Ruben Tejeda. Outlaw the slide and the problem is solved. If the runner can't go in standing up, then he should be ruled out. He should take the tag like a man if he makes such a base-running blunder. If he can't judge his arrival at second base any better than that then he shouldn't be playing the game at this level.

    It's crazy how public outcry has influenced bad/inconsistent decision making. I'd expect more professionalism from major sports organizations.
