This is why I think Kapler is the guy.. The FO can basically run this team from player acquisitions, roster construction and daily lineups/platoons etc...total control...

Any seasoned manager will say fuck no and likewise from the FO. Buckle up boyz. We're are definitely in for a rookie type manager or an anylitical type manager who has no problem with platoons and shifts..

Let's just hope they fucking tell the rook at SS to cover 3b on that shit.

    Worst scenario ever.

Make yourself the manager if you want to write the fucking lineup card.

1986 or 1987 I was a backup first baseman for Los Alamitos Griffin baseball team. JT Snow was the starter. My dad got me a job with the Angels as a basement porter. One week the Yanks were in town and I wasn't even scheduled to work but I took the bus down there in hopes of seeing the Yankees. I got in the stadium and heard BP taking place in the Angels bullpen. I raced down there and there (he) they were taking batting practice. Don Mattingly, Dan Pasqua, Pags and some asshole backup SS who I will mention later. I stood there in my high school uni stunned. I watched Mattingly hit balls so hard that the sound hurt my ears and this asshole backup SS Len Sekata tried to get rid of me. Mattingly looked at him, dismissed him and asked me how I was doing. I was shocked. I told him I played first base and me and all my team mates tried so hard to hit like him, distributing our weight and extending our arms when we swung. The other Yankees left and Mattingly stayed there with me in the Angels bullpen talking to me about hitting. I was 16 years old. I never asked for an autograph or a pic or anything.
About five years ago I was flying to Detroit with my cousin to Kid Rocks 40th birthday concert and Don Mattingly sat in front of us. The whole flight he was reading about different scenarios during baseball games. My cousin was beside himself acting foolish but I told him to chill and leave him alone but the whole flight we were looking over his shoulder trying to contain ourselves. When the plane landed he stood up looked right at me and asked if I was going to opening day. I responded "yes" and he talked to me again for about five minutes about Kershaw and the upcoming season. He was so classy and gracious and I didn't mention anything about our prior meeting.

    I'll miss you Don Mattingly.

I love this board, I love the DODGERS but alot of armchair QBs in here acted like assholes talking so much shit all season for the last five years about Mattingly.

Well.. you got what you wanted.

you better hope that whoever comes in is perfect or you will all look foolish.

And one last thing.. if we even consider that fucking loser Ron Washington I am 100% out as a Dodger fan and that is a promise.

Miami has a lot of old retired Yankee fans from the 80's. Donnie probably puts old asses in the seats.

I was not a big Mattingly fan(obviously), but I put most of the blame on the players. Was it Don's fault that we couldn't get any timely hits in game 5? Was it Don's fault that we had to throw out Brett Anderson in game 3 on the road vs Matt Harvey? Our lineup punked out for the third postseason in a row and we once again had a suspect bullpen that put loads of pressure on ZG/CK to pitch late into games. I think Don had a lot of shitty luck in the playoffs to be honest....Hanley getting plunked in the ribs in game 1 of the 2013 NLCS was a series changer. Dude was crushing Braves pitching and our hottest bat....we scored 2 runs in the next 20 innings with the 2 coming in the first inning of game 1. In 2014, Kershaw got burned twice in the 7th inning, but none of us would have pulled CK for one of our lousy BP options in that situation. If CK doesn't have two shit innings, we most likely advance to face a team we beat up on down the stretch. This year, we lose by 1 run in game 5 to a team that just swept the Cubs like it was nothing....our offense gave CK 0 run support in game 1, and shit the bed with RISP in game 5. Things I don't blame Don for....I do blame Don for using Baez vs Wright and was not always a fan of his lineups, but I don't think a switch at manager will change much to be honest.

Not many managers are going to be praised by us fans with our lofty expectations and the next guy might end up making Don look like a genius. We are all testy with the Giants recent success and our lack of success with our gigantic payroll. It's even worse to see these new teams like the Mets, Cubs, Blue Jays, and Royals come out of nowhere and make playoff success like so easy after being bad teams for years. At the end of the day, this is a cruel fucking sport with a lot of fluky shit involved. Cubs just got swept by a team they went 7-0 against in the regular season after beating a 100 win Cardinals team that was ahead of the MLB all year. Playoffs seem like a crapshoot for everyone involved....except us.

I really don't want a puppet manager or the front office treating any manager like one. I'd be calling for their heads based upon principle alone.
