LA street culture is the core group of Raider fans.
    NWA west coast rap influence,
    LA Chicano influence.
Current generation of people whose parents grew up when the Raiders played in LA.
If these current sons of LA Raider fans who are OAK Raider fans by default have sons they will most likely not be Raider fans because the team is in SD or LV or whatever.
OAK at least is the old home of the Raiders so its kind of not that much of a bother for sentimental reasons.

Again, you're forgetting 1 category in terms of culture in LA; the bandwagoner/fair-weather/casual fan.
I'm with you about 30% and see where you're trying to go, I just can't go all the way there with you.
We all know Steelers', Packers', Cowboys' fans that grew up in LA and there's been a ton of them since way before the Raiders and Rams left.
It's because much of LA is a transplant/bandwagoner/fair-weather/casual fan city and kids do as they see, follow trends and winners.
The culture's been that way for a long while, not likely to change.
Walk into LA and win, you can get the fan...Raiders proved this in '83, before " NWA " and " street culture ".
Point is, sure the Rams are back, but they didn't lock down the city's football fans the last time they were in LA and it wasn't just the Raiders' presence hurting them, so the Raiders don't have to be there.

Current Raider fans in LA that have kids..those kids aren't Raider fans to begin with unless their parents urge them that way or they " wanna be like dad " or whomever it is that they look up to, or trend they're following.
In a way they fall into the same category of fans.
Will they end up as Rams' fans in the end?
Again, much of it is a fair-weather, casual sports town, so where you're headed for is an inexact destination, but if the Rams are winning I imagine they would.
However, again, Kroenke's on field/on court products usually don't establish a winning culture.
He's likely gonna have to earn it, LA is not an easy market to win over, never has been.
    Too much goin on.

Personally, I wouldn't expect the Raiders LA following to suffer unless the Rams win.
In the grand scheme/over the long haul, if the Raiders are winning in SD or LV, and the Rams are losing in LA, I definitely wouldn't expect any drastic shift.
Raider interest invades rival cities pretty much like the Cowboys and Steelers do.
LA's got 2 professional teams that Angelenos pretty much ride and die with.
    Lakers and Dodgers.
    That's the list.
But again, where I have to get off completely is the theory that the Raiders will suffer nationwide if they don't play in LA.
    Not at all.

LA is looking more likely for the Raiders I suppose, always figured it should be that way, but TBH now I'm almost hoping for Vegas over LA, SD, or OAK. Haha
I mean the Raiders have done LA, won a Super Bowl, took the city, etc.
    Old shit.
Also not really interested in the unearned Rams-like boost in value they'd get in LA either, Raiders are already recognized as an iconic/nationwide brand as it is.
Would almost rather see the Raiders do what hasn't been done at this point and bring the league to Vegas..
..and then do the unprecedented, win a Super Bowl for 3 different cities.
A Super Bowl Title parade in Vegas might be a Super Bowl sized parade. Lol

Police respond to incident involving Johnny Manziel
    ESPN.com news services | 90 minutes ago

Police were called to investigate an incident involving Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday.

Fort Worth police said in a statement Saturday that officers were called to an apartment building around 2 a.m. about a possible assault. Police talked to a 23-year-old woman, who was not the caller, who said she had been involved in an incident earlier in the evening with her ex-boyfriend in Dallas. A preliminary investigation determined that a possible assault had occurred, though the woman refused to cooperate with officers and there was no evidence of a crime scene.

The woman also told officers she was concerned about her ex-boyfriend's welfare. Police officers attempted to locate him and later determined that he was safe and not in danger.

Fort Worth police confirmed the man in the report was Manziel. They said they are working with Dallas police to determine if any criminal offenses occurred, which Dallas police confirmed in a statement.

When asked about the incident by ESPN, the Browns said they would have no comment at this time. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told ESPN the league was aware of the incident and "looking into it.''

Manziel was questioned by police in October after a domestic incident involving his girlfriend at the time, though it was not immediately clear whether the same woman was involved in this incident.

In the October incident, several witnesses called police after seeing Manziel and a woman arguing in a vehicle. The argument escalated to the point that she tried to leave the car as it exited a highway.

Both Manziel and the woman admitted to arguing, and Manziel told police they had been drinking earlier in the day. The police officer made the determination that Manziel was not intoxicated and he was not charged. The NFL investigated the incident and announced in November that Manziel would not be disciplined.

It has been a tumultuous few months for the quarterback. Less than a week after being named the Browns' starter in mid-November, a video surfaced online of Manziel holding a bottle at an Austin, Texas, club during the team's bye week. The next day, then-Browns coach Mike Pettine announced that he was demoting Manziel to the third string for the next game.

A little more than a month later, Manziel was ruled out of the team's season finale with a concussion and did not attend the game. Reports surfaced that Manziel had been seen at a casino in Las Vegas that weekend.

Manziel spent 10 weeks in treatment for undisclosed reasons before this past season.

At the time of new Browns coach Hue Jackson's hiring earlier this month, a source close to the situation told ESPN's Dan Graziano that Manziel was discussed at length in meetings between Jackson and Browns ownership. In those discussions, Jackson indicated that if he were to become head coach he would prefer the organization part ways with Manziel, and Jackson was told that would not be a problem. Jackson said earlier this week that he had not talked to Manziel yet.

7 games in the NBA tonight and all 14 teams scored at least 100 points.

Damn the league and the game have changed.

Simmons and Hield both showed out, but Simmons needs to be a lot more aggressive. In late game situations, he's a ghost. I love that he's unselfish, but he should be looking to take over games at this level with his skill set. Hield stepped up and hit big shots down the stretch to lead OU to a comeback win on the road while Simmons stood in a corner and watched his teammates brick shot after shot.

    Latest news surrounding Russell Westbrook
by Joseph Zucker | Bleacher Report — 1 hour ago

Kevin Durant's impending free agency has been hanging over the Oklahoma City Thunder for a while now, and the discussion about Russell Westbrook's future is already beginning.

In an interview on ESPN Radio 710's Mason and Ireland (via Ryan Ward of the Examiner), ESPN's Stephen A. Smith reported that not only Durant but also Westbrook may be changing teams in the near future:

"Keep in mind this, one of the biggest reasons, I'm told, that Kevin Durant may have the Lakers at the top of his list, is because the Lakers have been led to believe, by whom specifically I do not know, but the Lakers have been led to believe that it is a very good chance that the following year Russell Westbrook is coming."

The first question that comes to mind is whether Durant would even want to play for the Lakers since he'd be the first domino to fall. The franchise may be one of the most successful in NBA history, but its track record in free agency hasn't been all that great in recent years.

The Lakers failed to land LaMarcus Aldridge this past summer or Carmelo Anthony in 2014, while Dwight Howard decided to join the Houston Rockets instead of re-signing in L.A. in 2013.

Kobe Bryant's impending retirement may make the Lakers a more attractive free-agent destination, but his departure won't solve the issues surrounding head coach Byron Scott or the team's ownership.

While Jordan Clarkson, D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle offer hope for the future, Los Angeles is still a long way from being a true title contender. Durant going to the Lakers would obviously change that and offer a strong incentive for Westbrook to return to his California roots.
Of course, that posits the idea Westbrook would even want to play on the same team as Durant in the future. Although the two don't have an adversarial relationship, Westbrook might relish the opportunity to be the unquestioned star of his own team and not have to share the spotlight with Durant.

Still, Durant and Westbrook's best chance to win an NBA title arguably remains in Oklahoma City, not to mention they could earn more money with the Thunder than any other team.

Hopefully, somebody will ask Westbrook about the Lakers speculation if only to see if he produces the biggest side-eye in recorded human history.

Actually a good thing for the lions. Guy is 31 and is declining. WR's don't have a long star shelf life and with his injuries........ and they won nothing with him anyway. Plus a lot more cap space. But then again they are the Lions so they will find a way to fuck it up anyway lol

And even with his injuries, and declining, he still caught 88 balls for 1200+ yards and 9 TDs this season.
Declining for him is going from an outrageously, incredible all-pro to just pro bowl caliber.
No, this is not a good thing for the Lions.
A good thing for the Lions would've been for him to restructure his contract from God-status to a normal pro bowler's and for him to return and contribute.
The fact that they won nothing with him is the team's fault, no different than Sanders.
He's 1st ballot, walking into Canton with Woodson.

Welp, we just lost Justin Tuck to retirement.
Good for him, good guy, helped a ton in the rebuild, hope he sticks around within the org somehow or at least keeps close tabs on Aldon.
Malik Jackson is definitely at the top of the FA board now.
