Nicely handled by Roberts. Hopefully Puig's teammates are backing the manager. Puig's nature is to pose when he thinks he's hit it out. Apparently he still hasn't eliminated that from his game.
Very good signs of growth from both. Breaking a wild horse is hard. Harder yet to train that mustang into a stallion once hes broken. That takes time and patience. For both the horse and the trainer. Rush it and you risk also killing his spirit. Then you left with no more horsepower. And all the horse is good for is to be a stud out on the farm.
He's also been a bad baseball player for close to two months. He doesn't have the leeway he did when he was hitting .350 and we were 42-9. If he does something like this bench him for three games, why not. It's more likely to work than repeatedly slapping him on the wrist.
Does anyone have a theory on Joey Votto's behaviour? I can't put my finger on whether he's a joker ( albeit Canadian style), or a complete asshole...anyone? Anyone?
