    Ok, that's not selling. That's moving salary, and jettisoning aging contracts.

    I take your point, but in this case the "selling" should have happened two off seasons ago. The likes of some of these contracts won't amount to a "sell", it will be a give away. It's hard to "sell" when you're paying the salary of the guy who's leaving.

    Not really if you getting other types of assets.
    Even a aging agon or ethier can be very valuable. Specially to an AL team who may have a liability in the field but asset at the plate who would fare better as a DH. Slipping agon in at 1b or ethier in the OF could save them runs defensively in the playoffs.
