To get where they got with all the injuries was amazing. I was shaking in my boots when you guys took a 2-1 lead. Our guys just got hot at the right time. And Kershaw had a bad game at a bad time. If you guys had stayed hot it could be you playing the Indians instead of us.

Forget the ridiculous " trade Kershaw " pitch..not a peep about your nemesis Grandal's season after his slow start or fat Kemp getting air-lifted out of yet another town? Lol

you really think thats comparable or something to hang your hat on?
Hee Seop Choi is waiting for his call .240 40 120 .349
you should take a look at how kemp measures up against the rest of mlb ofs

    :koolaid:

And yes, best to start thinking about the possibility of Kershaw in another uni. The blueprint is there. You can choose to see it or not in the end its your prerogative

    How dare you write that...
Even though you're correct about much of it.
Wow...I hope we do something before 2020.

I don't know if was only the media. I'll agree with you that what they did in Tampa was adored as genius by much of the media, but it was also all over this website. Over and over again. Even now.
And idt anyone is "acting" like we came in behind the Padres...just as losers again, as we always do.
Even with the HoF managers, and highest payroll, and the most money, and greatest pitcher, and MoY and RoY...and bext attendence, and yeah, and even with the "geniuses" FO.
    Lol.
Idk if anyone is really thinking Padres here...something else, I'm pretty sure.

    Actually, no, I don't think they're comparable.
I mean Kemp is on his 3rd team in 3 years ( for a reason), soon to 4th because there's no way fat boy isn't winding up in the AL as somebody's DH with all the runs/games he gives away defensively and his embarrassing on base %.
Kemp ranked 31st among all OF offensively.
Looked that up for kicks, now, do yourself a favor and google " fat Matt Kemp ".
    Bad hips?..what hips? Lmao
Dude is out there in the OF shaped like an egg. Smh
And Kemp (.805 overall OPS), to Grandal ( .816 overall OPS)..hmmm.
Need I also mention Kemp's .258/.293/.468 line VS right handed pitching?
That's a .761 OPS over about 530 plate appearances VS right handed pitching this year for Kemp AKA barely above league average and the definition of being on the wrong side of platoon splits.
All in all, saddle Kemp's bum ass up once a week against a lefty and he's good, other than that..meh.
Grandal, on the other hand, had an .824 OPS VS right handed pitching.

As far as that " trade Kershaw " ridiculousness goes..you should've adopted Herm Edwards' line of thinking on this one - " don't press send ". Smh
" Trade Kershaw " has to be right up there with that " fire Reggie McKenzie " classic.
The way you refuse to address McKenzie these days, that should've been your approach here with Kemp and Kershaw, seriously.
While Grandal was being sought after by a contending Dodgers team, and other impact guys around the league are moving to contenders at the trade deadline, only the sorry ass Braves came calling for fat boy Kemp and so he goes to another rebuilding team for a pit stop. Smh
Even the silly ass WSox that came calling for that bum James Shields were like " nah, we're good on Kemp, Preller brah. "
Smh Kemp's fat ass probably has diabetes at this point, so be careful with all your Kool-aid emojis, bro. Lol

It sure would be nice if Kershaw could be a little more outspoken, use his relatively powerful voice and say something a little cheeky like "I certainly hope the FO can actually assemble a reliable pitching staff rather than a bunch of injury prone trash so we can actually beat teams like Chicago" but alas, he's not. I can only imagine what a guy like Sheffield would be saying if he were still on the team? Yeah, he was an AHole too but he did speak his mind.

Kersh has every reason to split when he can and not too many to stay. I'm sure the weather won't be the sole reason he'd stay here when his opt out comes due.

35MM per and playing in his hometown with no state income tax would be hard to overcome when he's been overworked and pretty much surrounded with shit for a decade.

    c'mon what.....

Remember when Kersh actually spoke up and the team started doing better, or Puig went away for an attitude adjustment? The rare times he does speak, good things happen so yeah, I happen to think his prime is being wasted and probably so does half the clubhouse. Too bad the "BB code" prevents 99.9% of guys from being candid so there's a chance shit can change.... or would you rather he be passive aggressive and vote with his feet after 2018?

There's no state income tax in Texas? Who knew? Well, I guess you did.
I thought that was FL alone.
I think there's a fair to middlin chance Clayton walks...and I don't know if it will be so much him as it would be the nerds, coming up with some kind of "economical" offer to the point of absurdity and possibly insult to him.
It is a dilema though...routinely and roundly called " the best pitcher in baseball", but with a rather poor record in the post season ( failure mostly), what is the focus then? Should be interesting...wonder if what Zack Greinke was paid, a lesser pitcher, is a starting point, or that amount presented as unrealistic overpayment to him?

Kershaw can speak up if he wants, BUT if he does, the 800 lbs gorilla in the room is his post-season failures. I don't care what ESPN says....but that narrative still exists.

Gave the team no chance to win in a close out game.

So I think it's probably better for him to keep quiet.

    Lol Exactly.
Greinke, who apparently was shit as CK's #2, wasn't the one blowing big ass leads in the post.
And aside from that, CK's a pitcher.
I want my everyday players speaking up...Yasmani did that earlier in the season, as did JT, as does Adrian when he feels it's necessary and Corey will be taking his rightful place as chief over the next couple years.

kersh leaving would depend on the circumstances
if the front office goes into rebuild for the next two years i could see him being frustrated
the other of course being convenience -- i mean, who wouldn't want to play half their games close to home if given the chance?
we also don't know for sure how the ellis trade affected him
he'll also be 30 when he can opt out... might be the last chance to get one final large payday
    who's to say?... :stirpot:

Then let it be Gonzo or any other well respected player. CK's record isn't relative to the point. This isn't about being a presidential election type mud slinging contest. It'd be nice to see a player put aside the "Good old boys" code and call the FUCKTARDS pitching choices out for being exactly what they are....shit. CK is the only one who happens to have hyper elite status and a looming opt out clause.

I would be very surprised if Kershaw opts out.

Very foolish decision if Kershaw chooses to leave (he won't). It'd be Greinke all over again. He understands that getting to the playoffs isn't something to take for granted like a lot of people seem to do.

I agree with your point on Ellis...I was going to put it in my post, but didn't.
Everyone says ( well, lots do) that if CK didn't like it, that's too bad..."we are the FO, and we have to make the moves we need to, regardless who doesn't like it". And, hard to argue against that cold, hard logic.
Well, essentially, he did do the good soldier thing for the most part and shut his mouth.
But no matter who thinks it should have no bearing on any future decisions he may make, what is in his heart about the Ellis thing, how this has truly affected him in his core, may absolutely swing him one way or the other. As you wrote...who's to say?
    We shall see...

I think we judge character differently.
I believe that what you are saying is not in Kershaws character.
