    Lou might be traded
LAL actively shopping him, looking for a 1st round pick

Yeah, trading Lou is or best bet to hopefully get a late 1st round pick. Good fall back if we lose the top 3 pick. Wouldn't mind sending Swaggy P out for a high 2nd round pick as well. Losing those two would significantly increase our chances of keeping that top 3 pick.

I imagine Lou will be Lou 5 years from now. He does not appear to me one of those players who is going to get 'old' really quick.
He is a high-quality player that has been underrated all of his career penalized for not being that great of a PG.

i was hoping to keep Lou around
its not that i don't understand all the reasons they are shopping him
but how is he only worth a first?
    especially at 7mil a year
i just imagine him having a big impact wherever he goes and the team that gets him getting a lot better quick

Would just as soon like to see Lou stay and be the 6th man in the event that they somehow unload the young talent for established stars.
Count me as a Lou fan for sure

I am thinking that may happen too.
So if that is the case then we would want Lou around.
Nick could get us a good second round pick and he is the safest one to movie.
If you package Randle and Clarkson and get back a Cousins you are starting to cook.
Specially if you get back a PG that allows Russell to try and just be a SG and score a lot like Lou.
Thats why I would not mind a 3 headed guard group of Russell, Lou and a passer/defender like Ricky Rubio.

Randle and Clarkson won't get you Cousins's left nut.

Wouldn't want him anyway. He's a proven loser, his monster talent aside.

Plus the current 1st round pick.
If we could trade the pick, Clarkson, and Randle for Anthony Davis that would totally right the ship.
Specially if we can flip somebody for Rubio.

    PG: Rubio/Lou
    SG: Russell/Lue
    SF: Ingram, Russell
    PF: Davis/Nance/Ingram
    C : Zubac/Davis, Nance

Regardless, the LAL FO has had interest in Cousins, but SAC wanted Russell and Ingram in return.
Personally, I don't see that deal happening.
Rival execs can hate Kupchak all they want, but he usually gets stars for less on the trade market, especially when those stars have free agency around the corner - like Cousins.
If Kupchak is unloading the youth to get stars, the targets will more than likely be the stars that are under current team control for 3+ years or so..have to give their current teams good enough reasons to rebuild.
Randle and Russell have been catching splinters down the stretch of these games and probably due to their lack of defense.
Not sure if either is long for LAL..I mean big picture, the coach and the FO would probably like to see them in the game when it's close late..unless they don't think either guy is gonna be around much longer anyway.
But then again, they've both been dealing with little health related stuff as of late as well, so they could be sitting late for precautionary reasons

    Comically mismanaged,
Yet it's still the second most valuable franchise in the NBA. Second only to the Knicks, who are an even bigger disaster.

Don't think LAL can go wrong w/Fultz or Smith..or Jackson
Ball, still on the fence about how he'd fit, but wouldn't hate it

Wasn't really referring to Smith as a fit for the Lakers... just more as a general appreciation for how his game has grown.

Yeah I had to take it there in the LAL thread and what not..they should try keeping their pick 1st tho.
Shit, it's about time LAL strike and get that #1 overall pick..fuckin TWolves w/their #1 picks as cornerstones.
    Wiggins is blossoming.

Lakers could have easily topped that package without including Ingram, Russell, Zubac, or Nance. Meaning like Clarkson and Randle, mayble make it a 3 teamer and flip Lou to Washington and get 'em an extra first to go with. In fact, I'd venture to guess we probably made a better offer than what they got but they wanted more because Lakers.

None of that matters if SAC covets Ingram
