Lonzo has a quick shot release. Near Klay Thompson territory. As far as Defense, he is more than capable, has the size, and if you watched more than 3 games in college, he has a tendency for getting his hands in passing lanes.

And for all the BS he gets about the way his stroke looks, the release point is pretty normal.
His elbow is in and his release point is aligned with his forehead, so it's much ado about nothing really.

It still looks like he's got his release point a little bit too far to the left. The elbow is at the right point, but his hand is a little to the left of where a conventional release would be.
Looks like he's got a hint of sidespin because of that. It's less of an issue than if his hand was at the "normal" point and his elbow was out.

And as the video shows, his release is quick and he was a good enough shooter in college that it may not ever need to be fixed. He may never be a great shooter, but he can probably be good enough.

not calling him a failure out of the box just saying he's far from a sure thing
sitting at those games i saw flashes of brilliance against future businessmen and accountants
the show is the test and it looks like we will likely have a front row seat to witness it
hoping for the best as i always do

If you listen to Don MacLean Lonzo is way behind Fultz and in the same category as Fox et al. He lists Lonzo as his 5th best PG prospect, points to his shot being funky and that he isn't very good inside the 3-point line. He's been on the Petros and Money show alot throwing major shade on him and his father. I think his judgement is clouded by LaVar Ball and is evaluating him unfairly. I yelled at the radio when he talked about the shot but I guess he forgot about Jamal Wilkes!

Kareem now shitting on Dwight Lol
I actually believe Dwight on this one tho
I can totally believe D´antoni and others in the FO telling Dwight not to work with Kareem..because they probably felt like Dwight was a finished product at that point ( correct) and they just weren´t going to use him on the low block and throw away possessions to make him happy.
He was told from day 1 to come and be Tyson Chandler

When he's hitting the jumper with that kind of confidence.......wow.

Hope he saves some of that for the Warriors.

Since the Celtics' Big 3 run came to an end, the closest anybody's come to dethroning LeBron in the east..

Uh oh..already knew D'angelo would be a no-brainer in terms of his availability and that they'd try to send Deng to Indy, but Randle is available too?

    http://www.lakersnation.com/lakers-...dangelo-russell-and-julius-randle/2017/05/20/

The Lakers also would love to dump one of those big contracts that resulted in a management change. The talk among general managers is you can pretty easily get D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle. Then simple. You give the Pacers Luol Deng to match salary with George and then throw in two former lottery picks, one from the Big 10 and the other from nearby Kentucky, and the Pacers can sell that as a rebuild.

Was disappointed when the Lakers struck out on Aldridge. After watching him the playoffs, I'm not so disappointed.

Agreed that he gets flamed way too much for his stroke..He typically uses good footwork to compensate for his shooting motion
But the success of his shot (to this point) is predicated around how much space he can get
His stroke as a whole requires him to have more space than usual because he likes to jump forward into his shots (and into/under defenders at times)
This is why he tends to take long range shots where he his shots arent as closely contested
Rarely did he ever come off a PnR and hit an elbow jumper so idk how he'll develop in that regard

He wont have as much space in the NBA.
And he hasnt shown the ability to possess any mid range game which at times may be all thats available for him so we'll see if he can develop that as well

Suggesting inclusion in a PG13 deal isn't can be had pretty easily when that's probably the only scenario they move, for someone of his caliber, but more likely we will just wait and give them nothing. ATtach a pick to Mozgov/Deng and ship one out that way.

Space is required for a good sized portion of the league's pointguards, and they generally get it outside of the 3pt line, especially in transition and early offense because it's nearly impossible to stop penetration in today's game with the way the rules are + with how prevalent the screen/roll is and the variety of ways it's used.
It's a big part of why Steph Curry can still get off so many 3's even though he's the greatest 3pt shooter of all time and everybody knows he wants to shoot it

I don't know if it's why his approach is such, but I do know that the mid-range/2pt shot has been devalued in today's NBA
Harden rarely ever takes a mid-range shot and Curry only 1 or 2 a game
    It's on Lonzo to continue to perfect his 3pt shot..he matched Curry's college 3pt % @ 41.2
At 6'6" with his ball handling skills and quickness he has a decided advantage, so again, it's just on him to take it to the next level

That's debatable, the elimination of handchecking in the NBA has freed up the game for great ball handlers and actually helps stars flourish and put points on the board.
That's partially why you always hear scouts and analysts say " this guy's gonna improve in the wide open NBA setting "
The NCAA eliminated handchecking a couple years back because they wanted to open up the game and make it more exciting, but there's still clusterfuck defense going on the NCAA level because of full-court pressing and 3/4's court pressing/trapping aka shit he won't see much of in the NBA because it's an 82 game grind and ain't nobody got time for all that, running players into the ground.
The rules of today's game are such to give the offensive player an advantage, if Lonzo is surrounded by really good talent he could be tough to handle if his shooting continues to develop
