I fought a boxer twice. Both times the boxer kicked my ass. Without breaking a sweat. And I thought I was pretty a pretty tough fighter who could take a punch. But these dudes knew exactly when to hit me and where and it all seemed methodical but lightning fast. It was weird. My jaw was never the same from one hit right under my ear and another above it. I did not even get mad at the guy. It was my fault for 'keeping it real' when I should have just kept it fake and used words to de-escalate the situation. But at the time I really really liked fighting. Hard to beat that adrenaline rush. Until the day that adrenaline pushes you into a fight and right before you are to take your first punch it drains from your body and you are left flushed... and you get scared that you are about to get your ass kicked and for the first time you fear that you might get hurt. Then you are fucked. You become Jim Everett and start looking for a way out. Even if it means taking a dive.
