If the Dodgers could acquire one player at the deadline, who would you prefer?

  1. Machado

    43.5%
  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

    56.5%

I actually do too. Harold and Smoltz both say some ridiculous stuff but Harold actually gets excited about shit. Smoltz always seems in a bad mood and doesn't really seem like he gets excited about much on the field.

They went to a commercial and I was getting out of the car. He went into no detail, but my guess is that the Phillies offered one of their top prospects(maybe one of their young guys already at the MLB level like Crawford of Kingery, though very doubtful). The top of the Phillies farm have not had a great year thus far so I have no clue what he could mean. Remember, he played for the Phillies so he could be lusting over something he knows better than the Dodgers system.

Maybe it's true but it also sounds like a pretty good "we tried" excuse for the Phillies FO to start spreading around to avoid any blame.

    Jerry Crasnick:
Hearing nothing today to indicate the Manny Machado trade is steaming toward the finish line. There's no reason to believe it won't happen by Friday. But when the #Orioles are involved, you never know what might bog things down near the end. That's their organizational M.O.

According to Fancred’s Jon Heyman, Dodgers outfield prospect Yusniel Diaz is believed to be the centerpiece of the deal. The Dodgers apparently prefer to hold on to pitching prospect Dustin May and middle infield prospect Gavin Lux.

If this is true the Nerds are idiots. I might understand May, but Lux is so buried on the depth-chart its not funny.

How is Lux extremely buried on the depth chart? We don't have an abundance of major league upside caliber middle infield players in our org, and the ones that we do have (Seager/Taylor/Enrique) all have their own question marks.

Hoonstra is reporting that he has heard nothing either way in regards to Manny, but Diaz jumped the gun entirely on his own this morning. He posted the thank you and removed it without any discussions with the FO.

Im not sure I would classify Seager as a question mark. Yes has tommy john but he is not a pitcher......i think he will be fine. Plus if we lock up Manny then Lux is blocked. In your list above you also forgot Muncy and Manny. That seems a bit blocked to me.

That the process had probably slowed down dramatically, but he had no indication why beyond the O's being known for this behavior. Can't say I am familiar with the behind the scenes stuff.

TJ surgery is always a question mark and that just adds on to the list of lengthy injury issues that Seager already had. Turner is locked up for two more seasons, then he is probably gone(before Lux makes it up anyway). Manny is a free agent at the end of the season so nothing is set in stone there. Hernandez is a FA as well after 2020. Lux is not blocked and there is not exactly anyone else in the system that screams MIF starter.

It is wild that so many big names did that, even knowing that the Orioles are a part of this fucking thing.

I think I liked it better when one day I turned on mlbtv, and there was Manny's photo with an LA cap on.

Don Olsen (Not really sure, but seems to be connected to the O's) is saying that Dustin May is what is holding the deal up. The O's do not like his medical images... If it is his meds holding up the deal, guarantee that this thing is not going to happen.
