The latest reliever linked to the Dodgers by Rosenthal: Mychal Givens. I just threw up in my mouth.

His Ks are up quite a bit, but so are his HRs and walks.

Givens can be pretty good. He’s better than Yimi/chargois/Sadler/Rosscup which isn’t saying much obviously. He’d be a good 2nd or 3rd reliever they get but not the best one they get. And he’d be a reliever I’d be happy with for regular season but not playoffs idk. Throws hard, has good stuff but like you mentioned, not great command.

Never heard of him until the post, but if he has no command and gives up taters, we already have that in Jansen.

The price of doing business. I'm sure the FO figured Alvarez was another in the long line of their Cuban busts.

Guess the Giants didn't get the memo that they sucked. This is very disturbing.

As many times as LAD reportedly tried to include Puig in trades, have to wonder how many times the Astros turned down a ride on the wild horse's ass before getting the Dodgers to settle on Alvarez/Fields

Would have been interesting to see what kind of return Puig would have brought.

Definitely tough to say. Who would've thought Cincy would be where he'd end up? And that trade had so many angles and hoops to jump through.

Then you have to wonder how guys would've played in Puig's absense. Toles had made a great impact in his 50 or so games that year while Puig was bumming around. Who knows where Toles would be today

We haven't landed any Latin American players of note in a long time. Especially when you consider the volume on other rosters, and how many we used to turn out.
Our Cubans in particular (Guerrero, Olivera) have been complete wastes.

Corey, Cody, Max, Austin, Justin, A.J, Alex, Chris, Clayton, Walker, Gavin, Dustin, Will, David, Matt...

...Sounds more like a Huntington Beach little league team than an MLB club.

Maybe once we get some international signing money.

    .
Your list conveniently left off Kenley, Julio, Yimi, Pedro, Kiké, Kenta, Hyun-Jin, and Joe.

Julio was signed by the previous regime. Kenley was also the previous regime.
    The others are scrubs.
We're still doing great with high floor guys from Japan and Korea, true.
Still disproportionate domestic : international, though, as far as impact position players are concerned.
Look at the All-Star lineup and some of these other rosters. How are the Dodgers not finding and/or signing these stars when they used to be THE organization to do so?
I mean, we have drafted great, but international signings have mostly sucked balls.

I will say this, though...Puig earned every penny he was paid. Just didn't ascend to a superstar level.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter as long as we win...which we haven't.

    Looks nice and all...
...but I don't get why they're filling in the gap between the bleachers and the outfield wall. That's just asking for trouble/interference.

Plus it ruins the fun of watching to see if a drunk dude in the pavilion will fall over trying to catch a home run

That’s my least favorite part of these renovations though. I don’t like adding these glamor spots to the pavilion. You have the rest of the stadium for these types of seats. Keep the look there where the pavilions make the stadium look great during big games

Yeah, I don't know how many rows they will be removing from the Pavilion, but it may very well ruin the 60's, mid-century, California look.
And like you said, the amount of seats out there add to the enormity of big games. That will be lost if they go overboard.
Plus all of the digital signage is overwhelming.
I'm a minimalist when it comes to baseball stadiums, so I don't like the renderings of the bleachers.

They did a good job with the last round of renovations because they didn't damage the aesthetic. Jury is out on this one.

Not counting on the food being any better. The last round of renovations added a BBQ and Italian place in the outfield and they are both heat lamp trash.

I understand not being able to serve great stuff in the main concourses, because the stadium was built into the terrain and you can't really expand for bigger kitchens. But the outfield has endless space and you still serve crap.
