There are many pathetic displays of old school tough guy stuff. But i sincerely hope the Astros are target practice for pitchers starting day 1 of spring training. Bonus points for anyone who knocks AJ hinch the fuck out in a brawl. What they did is cowardly, childish, and despicable.

Two years late, and a stupid miss for a moneyball FO. I love how their version of 'buying low' is radically overpaying for gutless pitchers.

I don’t want the WS trophy at this point, I realize you can’t go back, and that would be the shittiest WS parade ever. Plus they didn’t just cheat us, they cheated any other team they beat in the playoffs and any other team who missed out on the playoffs because of them.

My one hope is that they get hit HARD by this. They aren’t one of the ratings darlings in MLB, so there’s a chance MLB has the balls to do the right thing. I want us to look at 2019 as the end of the Astros dynasty, and the beginning of 10 straight sub-500 seasons.

Don't underestimate the power of what was going on in HOU that year with Hurricane Harvey. MLB's not about to do a damn thing. They were on board with that story as much as anybody, likely wouldn't have stopped HOU from doing it if they caught them in the act.

Were PEDs good for the show in the last era? HRs were exciting, right? And we already know that they knew what was going on back then. MLB is full of shit

Sure, the 2017 Astros were a good story. Game 5 was "the greatest WS game ever played". All good for MLB.

Moving forward though, the Astros are still a smaller fanbase team. Punishing them won't hurt MLB pockets as much as punishing the Yankees, Cubs, or Red Sox would - so that gives me hope. Hell, they switched which league the Astros were in during the last realignment, you don't do that with storied franchises. Just let me have hope.

Donaldson's OK. Damn well better than JT @ 3B. And him being banged up in '17 and '18 certainly qualifies him for a LAD contract, so here we go

    Connecting the dots:
    • There's a rumor that the Astros 2017 sign stealing started when one of their players was slumping and he said his previous team had this sign-stealing system.
    • There's a short-list of 2017 Astros who were on a different team in 2016, most notably: Reddick(A's/Dodgers), McCann(Yankees), and Beltran(Yankees/Rangers)
    • CKWG said there are rumors that the Brewers and Rangers were also sign stealing
    • Which leads us to Carlos Beltran, patient zero, and his 2017 OPS of .666!
If it looks like a douche, and acts like a douche?

This team could honestly use some of his personality.

    Won't be holding my breath.

What else was the story of that postseason? MLB juicing baseballs..even if they do decide to do something after the fact, MLB is still full of shit. Think they're mad right now? Guess what? MLB has an actual story, albeit a negative one, going right now during the heart of the NFL season. What's the old adage? Any publicity is good publicity. Behind closed doors, during this boring ass free agency period, they are ecstatic right now

If Rendon stays with the Nats and the Indians decide they don't want to trade Lindor then getting Donaldson for two years is a good deal.
If we can't get FA in their prime or trade for proven stars to lead the team and our home grown stars are not yet ready to carry the load in prime time then its may not be a bad idea to load up on veteran leaders whose star is fading but can still produce when it counts.
Reshape the team in the image of Chase Utley. Add cheaper veterans above the age of thirty that have proven records of success.

    RF: Joc
    LF: Turner
    2B: Muncy
    3B: Donaldson
    CF: Bellinger
    1B: Moustakas
    SS: Seager
    C : Smith

SP: Beuhler, Kershaw, Ryu, Urias, Hamels, Hill, May

And if Jared Jeffrey can be rehabilitated he would make a great setup guy to overtake Kenleys job.

Donaldson makes a lot of sense for this front office, instead of $220 million they’d be able to sign him to a one or two year deal and kick the can down the road pretending that they’ll one day sign a real free agent

You buried the lead with Reddick.
With our luck it would be Reddick who slumped then improved while an Astro due to the sign stealing tricks he learned from Gabe Kapler while he was a Dodger. Tricks Kapler picked up as a member of the Rangers cheating dynasty that has close ties to the Astros. Much like how the Giants tricks and the A's tricks were all coming from the same pimp.

I wonder if we’ve been cheating, and maybe we have. But if we were I highly doubt we were using the sign-stealing technique, seeing as we were so blind to it in the 2017 WS.

Wasn't there a report that some opposing players were looking at our center field for cameras this year?
