Would guess this would be a part of a HUGE deal cause the prospect haul would need to be massive, imo. Clevinger was nothing short of elite for the last 3 months of the season after coming back from injury. He had a 16 game stretch of sub 2 ERA once he settled in. I would think the only way to get Lindor and Clevinger would be in something bigger where Joc and/or Seager are a part of it. So 3-4 team deal that could be hard to pull off.

Wow. I swear, every year there are so many tweaks and changes in the MLB that I have or had no idea were ever made.

Lux would be gone. Same for May, Joc and probably Ruiz. I think I'd be down with that.

    • Dodgers are interested in Japanese leftfielder Yoshitomo Tsutsugo. He is supposedly pretty mediocre in the field, but all reports are that he can really hit. He has been working out with Nolan Arenado this offseason and has been trying to improve his versatility. He is not looking for the most money, but prefers somewhere he will play most often. The Dodgers are said to be one of the few NL teams to be interested in him, but this FO has been following him closely for the last 3 or 4 years according to reports. Daniel Brim said there are a lot of similarities in his game to Joc Pederson's when it comes to how he looks in the field. He just turned 28 a couple weeks ago, so he still has a couple prime years remaining. He has a career .907 OPS to go with 205 HR's over 10 JPCL seasons.
    • The Dodgers also did not lose anyone to the Rule 5 draft. On the plate for next year is a hefty list where I counted at least 8 potential big leaguers, plus the 3 players from this year that also could push themselves into big league roles by then. This is one reason to expect a decent amount of trades over the next season as some of the guys on the list have some helium over the last year+.
    • Rosenthal is saying that Bumgarner is looking to get paid, but he is also going to likely prioritize winning too. This may be why the Dodgers are said to be in the mix for him. Still, would rather bring back Ryu over MadBum. Though if they do move May, they are probably going to need to add at least two vets to the rotation.
    • 3B Josh Donaldson has teams that are willing to go 4 years for him. This supposedly has knocked out some of the original contenders for his services. The Dodgers are rumored to be in on him, but at this point, I find that unlikely.

If he’s looking to play a lot, we aren’t the team for him.

If the team moves Pollock and Pederson that narrative will change, but yes I agree that unless this happens, he is not much of an option.

I think Syndergaard could be a terrific buy low option. His slider, and overall performance, likely suffered due to the changes on the new baseball. I believe the league will want to restore the baseballs physical characteristics to pre-2019 levels. If so, I fully expect Thor to regain the effectiveness he had prior to this season.

Even then we will still have Cody, Verdugo, Taylor, kike, and if they get Lindor or Donaldson or whoever without moving lux or Seager, then Lux getting a look in the OF.

This had to have been the least active trade market at the winter meetings I’ve ever seen

    I feel you.
    The Lakers don't feel right.
Did we get too used to the struggle and it's now just a tad too easy?
Like we are jumping on a bandwagon yet it's our own team. Yet the kids we rooted for are sprouting forests in other lands.
So there is a lot of sweet n sour for sure.

    But the Dodgers feel different.
They are signing different type of cats.
    And some are dogs.

Basically our only hope for this team is to piss off Dustin Nosler. And I’m all here for it.

(But I’m actually down for Bumgarner)

We know the 2 sure fire pieces would be Lux and May..maybe they pull Boston or Seattle in to take one of Seager or Taylor and the return for those pieces get shuffled around. Taylor for Boston, or Seager for Seattle. Not like Friedman hasn't been able to pull off 3 team trades before..now has a buddy in Boston..done multiple deals with Seattle and they have money to spend, could value an all Seager left side of the infield. Seattle pretty much has nothin to lose. We keep fat Joc..Verdugo can't be counted on, and neither can Pollock, obviously.

Eventually, 2021, LAD goes with Lindor/Downs up the middle. True double play tandem. Until then, Kike @ 2B. Just pencil him in everyday and see what happens. Can always replace him at the trade deadline, maybe bring in FA Zorilla to help Kike along. Zo didn't have a bad 2018. Or not, and just give Cesar Hernandez a solid 2 year deal to bridge to Downs. Lindor/Cesar, potentially be the best defensive middle infield in the NL.

Lindor's led off the majority of his career in CLE, so stay with that - followed by Muncy in the 2 spot, Turner @ 3, MVP @ 4, fat Joc @ 5, Willie @ 6, Verdugo @ 7, Hernandez - Cesar or Kike @ 8. Pollock fills in wherever/whenever. Clevinger slides in @ 2 behind Buehler. Sign Batman to compete w/finesse Kersh, he's still pumping it in @ 93+ on average and was solid for the A's in the 2nd half of last season. Buehler/Clevinger/Kersh/Bailey/Urias/Maeda/Gonsolin/Stripling/White (maybe, if he gets his shit together) They win 100 again and then we pray

    Reports from last night:
    • Dodgers are in no way shopping Lux. They feel he is going to be one of the better SS's in the game and are not looking to trade him.
    • While the Indians have engaged the Dodgers in trade talks, there is no reason to believe that they will actually trade Lindor. They have actually had talks with a number of teams and the assumption is that the Indians are not terribly serious about moving any of their core at this time. Apparently their GM is notorious for put together a number of trades without really ever doing anything.

Then trade Seager. You don’t need 2 SS, and if they think so highly of Lux, then deal Seager for some kind of relief pitching.
