    Can't understand how one ridicules Betts - who put an 8 WAR season on the board before Cora was even in Boston, but then is more than willing to hand Dugie a 5 WAR season when he's coming off back issues and has never once played well into August. You do have to appreciate that sort of imagination, I'll give you that

    That's probably because he has no position. I mean, he's not really good at any one spot. Probably gonna be at 1B pretty soon

    Trout's not a 10 war guy either. However, there is a substantial drop between the two. Both are capable and have put up 10 war in the past but I will never be ok with paying someone a multi year contract on an assumption that they will average 8 war over its course. Trout is the closest thing.

    Even with signing the contract two years early Trout is going to make out over the course of the contract because it wasn't an extension. The Angels ripped up the final two seasons of Trout's lower annual salary.

    Just don't see how these contracts can continue. Trout is the exception because he is historically exceptional. Betts can take off.

    Pretty clear people on team had a problem with him. He is just a man child and I didn’t really see a problem with his antics. Hope where he lands they let him be himself.

    Had no problem with most of his on-field antics. Flip a bat, take the extra base. Fine by me.

    But ripping up the scouting reports in front of the coaching staff, if true, is an indication that he did a lot of shit we don't know about.

    That same Houston guy is now saying that the Dodgers and Red Sox are haggling over figures. Dodgers would be taking Price back in the deal. Currently, the Sox want out of all of Price’s contract while the Dodgers want them to eat a bit. NoName said this guy has no credibility, so take this with a grain of salt. The last time he posted late at night, we awoke to a firestorm from the national media. We’ll see if this guy is 2 for 2 or not. If the deal is currently set and the Sox expect all the money off the board, the package would have to be pretty mediocre. He added that his source believes they are close enough that a deal will be made.
