On 2nd thought - maybe " Dugie " will now step into the role that Ellsbury's vacated

Should wait and find out where Seager ends up 1st

The Angels just have no depth in their minors and if none of their top prospects are coming back, that is a bit frustrating. After kind of sitting back and thinking everything over, I had to remind myself that this FO has done a fantastic job finding talent within other teams systems that they may have missed or undervalued. So I am hoping that is the case here. At the same time Adams was not mentioned as an Angels top prospect not coming back so I am holding out hope for him.

Literally said about a month ago - that Price would be the reason that the Dodgers miss out on Betts and how it'd be a shame.

Of course, for superstition's sake - Seager is now going to be the reason that the Dodgers miss out on Lindor. :D

It will be interesting if the Indians and Dodgers DO circle back around now. Not only did the Dodgers acquire a star by not impacting their farm whatsoever, they made the front runner in the AL Central that much stronger AND they helped one of the likely Wild Card combatants as well. There is some belief that the Dodgers are setting themselves up for another play, but at the same time they may be doing what they can to get under the tax now by enough that they can make moves around the trade deadline. I think the big deals are done, now we are going to see some cost cutting measures with guys like Strip and Hernandez since the club may feel that they have their replacements in the pipeline.

So there has been a lot of talk on here about Betts and his "down" year in 2019. While going through all the articles last night, I saw someone mentioned that he had dropped his hands from their usual starting point last year and it was a big reason for his struggles in May and June. Once they figured out what had happened, they brought his hands up and he tore it up the rest of the season

    ESPN...
“An offense that led the NL in slugging and homers and finished second in on-base percentage in 2019 has added a player with a .302/.374/.524 slash line, 134 home runs and 119 stolen bases over the past five years. A defense that led the majors in defensive runs saved has added someone who won a Gold Glove Award after each of the past four seasons.”

The report is that there is also a major league starting pitcher going to the Angels in the Joc trade, speculation is it will be Ross Stripling (which I think would be a great pick-up for the Angels), but is it possible that the "major league starting pitcher" is David Price?

    Bahston big mad.

The Red Sox are really trading Mookie Betts—one of baseball's best players and most accomplished players at just 27 years old. John Henry should be ashamed of himself. Absolutely pathetic.

    Field Yates@FieldYates
Other than hitting for average, power, playing elite defense, running the bases well and being a homegrown player who is beloved by all, Mookie Betts doesn’t do much well. Totally get where the Red Sox are coming from.

No, this has already been said that he is not the piece. The hold up is that they apparently can not get ahold of either the pitcher or the prospect the Angels are sending back.

Honestly, one of the best parts of the Mookie trade is seeing bittah Bahston fans.

BTW, have I mentioned yet that I'm a huge Mookie Betts fan? I love the guy's game, amazing add by the Dodgers.

Maybe I missed it, but has there been any speculation on where Betts will hit in the order?

RH bat, speed, power, contact and regarded as good as any at his position in the field. I'd say Mookie fits the bill.

Until proven otherwise, Price is going to be a stone in my shoe. Not a fan.

One thing that has been interesting sifting through all these articles is how much a lot of prospect people hate Alex Verdugo, the person not the player. I saw absolutely nothing last year to make me think he was not liked in the clubhouse, but good lord do they dislike him. Fangraphs mentioned that they dropped him out of their Top 100 entering last season due solely to his attitude, which is weird when all I have heard in the past two years is how he has done a total 180 in life after getting with a life coach. I still think he is going to be special, but I will admit his attitude may not gel well with Boston fans.

Which on a similar note, Reynolds brought up a good point in that before going to Boston, David Price was considered one of the good guys in the game. He was a fun, transparent dude, but I don't think he liked Boston or the way they treated him which caused the big rift in recent seasons. The whole thing with Ecks was complete dogshit and he was right to put him in Ecks in his place. I think we are going to see a revitalized Price this season and hopefully he can stay healthy.
