    Yes the majors are not the development league but when any player is having trouble MGT still runs them out there to try to fix the problem cuz live game is the best way to hone mechanics. 50 ABs here and there gives him no chance it correct anything. If MGT was serious about helping him give him time at the bottom of the line up so there is consistency or send him to AAA like they did to Puig to straighten him out. As it stands they did neither. Instead they put him at the top of the line up against RHP......no chance there to improve.

    She's been demoted to MY side piece. Much like Joc, I appreciate her strengths and I use them to both of our benefit.

    The point that a lot of people are missing is Joc is still very valuable whether he can hit LHP, can’t hit LHP, wants to hit LHP, wants to identify as someone who can hit LHP, or wants to be a LHP.

    It doesn’t matter he’s a consistent 3 win player in his final year of arb. He’s good and he’s a positive to the team. What he can and can’t do doesn’t really matter if the sum of those parts is the larger half of a 4-5 win OF platoon.

    Let me fix your statement. "He is a consistent 3 win player*...."

    * Only against RHP

    The point is if he were to play full time that "3 win player" would evaporate in an instant.

    Well, allow me to fix all this shit. The problem here is - Joc has been a positive force towards the ultimate goal. " He can hit RHP ".." he can't hit LHP "....yeah, and that's cool, but the real point of all this is - Joc hits POSTSEASON pitching.

    Know of a lot of guys who hit RHP in the reg season..who hit LHP in the reg season, and then perform as if they've gone blind in OCT and can't hit anything at all. That Joc has performed favorably against postseason caliber pitching, he should be of great value to this LAD team that's trying to win it all for the 1st time in 30+ years, so don't get lost in the analytical part of this fuckery

    Being a 3 win player in 120 starts is better than being a 3 win player in 160 starts

    Take Ethier, for example..hit RHP, didn't hit LHP..similar reg season value as Joc. But then the calendar flipped to OCT and Ethier was trash for the most part. A .773 career OPS in the postseason, and much worse than that between '13 and '16 when he was given north of 10 ABs in a playoff series.

    Joc's career postseason OPS is 40-50 points better than Ethier's. Nearly the same amount of opportunities, as well, both with about 50 postseason games under their belt with LAD. Ethier had a strong '09 postseason campaign and faded from there. Everyone likes to mention their worst LAD playoff moment from this Guggs era..for me, Ethier getting picked off 3B by Molina is a Top 3 worst postseason moment from this Guggs era. Fuckin bum

    We all love Joc and his postseason success. How can we not? I personally do not like when people get their feelings hurt over the truth. I hate it when people get publicly emotional over a completely rational and reasonable complaint.

    It's not a great conspiracy. The Dodgers even hired a third party to rep them.

    Joc: I start 110 games a year.
    Rep: We pay you for 162 games a year
    Joc: I hit home runs and create a buzz in those 120 games I start
    Rep: Yes, you hit home runs. Your other metrics are down.
    Joc: But I hit home runs ( because that is the only defense he really has)
    Rep: Again, yes you do hit home runs in 120 starts a year. But the opposing team can manage you right out of the game the second they choose to. Opposing managers can bring in a lefty simply to take you and your home run out in the sixth inning
    Joc: then let me hit
    Rep: my client wants to win. Are saying that you'd put your ego above the successful out come of the game?

    It's too easy.

    A huge benefit to Joc was his youthful exuberance. It's also his downfall here. That bonus is void.

    I see two arguments going on here:

    1) Does Joc have value?
    2) Did Joc get what he deserves in arbitration?

    And I say yes to both. I don't get why there is talk of trading Joc when he's in line to be our staring LF. That makes no sense. He had 500+ AB's last year, and a guy getting that many AB's isn't someone you just trade on a whim. I'm curious to see how the new reliever rule affects Joc, it should help him.

    Never thought I would like Trevor Bauer.

    Trevor Bauer
    @BauerOutage

    No idea who made this new playoff format proposal, but Rob is responsible for releasing it, so I’ll direct this to you, Rob Manfred. Your proposal is absurd for too many reasons to type on twitter and proves you have absolutely no clue about baseball. You’re a joke.
