We've had our differences which is cool (and I'm cool) but I only posted because the Hillary stuff IMHO was ludicrous. Now. My feelings toward that individual in the WH aside I will admit that my 401K has been really good but not everyone is fortunate to have stocks. The economic numbers are favoring a certain demographic but there are far more people hurting than thriving. The impeachment attempt was lame in the fact that the senate was never going to have to the balls to convict but what it means for my party going forward remains to be seen. What will Bolton's book reveal or subsequent books will who knows. I just don't think we can judge a in February and only 2 states down.

i don't think its that ludicrous
she's been out there commenting on everything and even being coy about jumping in
there's a lot of democrat money that still isn't on the table and the current field, to be generous, is pretty lackluster
i own a bit of stock as well but no 401k since i had to cash mine in from the last move i made just to cover taxes on the acquisition of my school
and i have begun to thrive somewhat after some of the worst years of my life in which i was almost financially decimated by CA government
its more complicated then that but CA for sure was in there w their sledgehammer doing their best to smash me
i see economic and employment numbers that allow every demographic a chance at having the success/failures i've had if they follow some basic tenents
deny instant gratification, save, invest and be consistent
its harder now but then again it always has been
the policies of dems and repubs have been selling that dream down the hole for decades and this guy you hate so much has revived them by most accounts
not sure what a butt hurt war mongerer like bolton can say that will make any difference
he's just another career politician that didn't get the glory he felt he deserved and that was to destroy iran
excuse me if i find it bizarre when someone like him is championed by liberals
i truly get why people hate the man but don't see what that has to do w the job
i think most Americans (its not a bad word) are doing better and that's all i really care about
the homeless issue is a different conversation but i just don't see any message from an increasingly socialist left that spells anything but disaster
glad to hear your portfolio is doing well btw peace

    Absolutely.

The number of Americans who dislike Trump can't be overstated. Like I said in another post, whoever the nominee is on the Democratic side will have 40% of the vote automatically, 60 million votes will come baked in just for having a "D" next to their name. Now, I can also see any of the Democratic candidates losing to Trump. Based on everything I've seen this figures to be a close race, no one is positioned to blow the other side away.

    My bold predictions:
    • Pete Buttigieg wins the Democratic nomination and general election
    • Buttigieg wins Texas, which has gotten closer and closer to a swing state
    • The Democrats flip the Senate (there are 23 Republican Senate seats up this election)

    thats a bold prediction alright
imo its obvious we were ready for a black president in this country
pretty clear we were ready for a woman president if it hadn't been pillory
    but a gay president?
    no way
absolutely no way the black/hispanic/middle of the country puts two guys in the white house
i'll bet everything i own on that one

I guess we'll see. As a Trump supporter are you rooting for Buttigieg to win the Democratic nomination then?

i don't think it really matters tbh
and i guess because i support the values only Trump seems to be working on it makes me a supporter
first president in my lifetime that has actually attempted and succeeded in actually doing what he promised to do
did you see the NH returns? i don't think its going to be close
there isn't much about the man i like and i get why people hate him but that has zero to do w the job he's doing
    Dow approaching 30,000 thats insane

Hillary is leaving the door open for a return. Pretty sure that everything will be even going into the convention and they way they screwed Bernie in 2016, the dems have no shame and will do it again. The whole idea of "super-delegates" tells me everything I need to know about their process. Ludicrous, maybe, but impossible no way.

This concerns me more than the presidential race. If the republicans lose the Congress, the 30,000 dow will disappear, 401K's will shrink, and nothing will get done for 4 years.

In 2008 the Democrats won the House, Senate, and President, and the Dow went up more in the following 3 years than it has during Trump’s 3 years of presidency.

are those the same people that say this is Obamas economy atm?
i mean i've been involved in business my entire life and have never seen an economic downturn like the one that took place in 08
whether it was starting in 07 or affected by the flaccid Bush year is speculation
only things i saw go up were unemployment and my debt
trying to sell democrats as good for business is pretty hard to do
then again i don't think republicans are much different anymore
i vote for less government and more of my money in my pocket tyvm

^^This proves my point although I do not recall my 401K doing this well in 2008...

They had all 3 branches of government so things could happen. Trump wins but loses the Congress, lame duck for 4 years and the economy will be stagnate as well.

Good economy and Americans first is all I really want. Oh yeah, and a Dodger World Series win would be nice...

Bush was president in '08 when things crashed. The Democrats that won the 2008 elections took office in 2009. The market continued to tank at the beginning of '09, but it recovered and did better in the first 3 years than what it has done during the Trump years.

The reality is the President has only a loose effect on the economy, but if you really want to praise/blame everything that happens to the economy on the President (many people do) then it's worth pointing out that the worst economic crash in the past 50 years happened while there was a Republican president, at the end of his presidency.

As a Democrat I recognize that if the economy is doing well at election time, it will play in the incumbent's favor. As a person who works in the investing industry, I hope it's doing well.

Just because you have some aspects of socialism in the universal health care trend doesn't mean you go total socialism that's the fear tactic used by the right. You don't change an entire government in 4 years that it took 200+ years to develop. No philosophy is obviously perfect on either side of the table but new ideas won't hurt. Yes indeed politicians will always be politicians sadly. The cost of living as well will always be high but I'm not going anywhere. Hilary has been out yes but she's promoting her book she wrote with Chelsea and of course they are going to ask about Donald but that doesn't mean she's angling. She's a woman and by nature she'll put her 2 cents in.

Those numbers were there when a Democrat was President. Maybe not as many record breakers but it was there. I'm 57 so I've been watching believe me. I want and need to retire lol.

During Obama's time in office the unemployment rate dropped from a staggering 9.9% to 4.7%. That's a 52% drop in unemployment.

During Trump's time in office it has dropped from 4.7% to 3.5%. That's a 26% drop.

Both are positive, I won't argue that, but you can't scoff at the improvement that happened during Obama.

The Dow did better under Clinton and Obama then it has done under Trump. The fear mongering that things will go south just because a Democrat is in office is unfounded.
