The dunk contest was great too. This was a pretty good all star fest in general. Silver looks shiny right now.
that i did see on a giant screen in Ventura Dwight in a superman cape connecting on that dunk made me yell out loud too bad the bar was full of necks not paying attention
I remember the rumors of him potentially going to the Lakers and then being so bummed that he ended up in Boston. I am going to go out on a limb and say that Kobe very much would have wanted Garnett to come play with him, especially with the situation taking place. At the same time, I think we were better off in the end with the 27 year old Pau over 31 year old Garnett. KG was better in the 07-08 season and beasted out in the playoffs that year, but much prefer what Gasol was able to do over a longer stretch.
Dr. Buss had a handshake deal with Minny's owner to send Bynum and Odom to Minny for Garnett. Garnett basically did a U turn after Ainge pulled off the trade for Ray Allen - giving the C's both Allen and Pierce. Garnett wanted to team with 2 stars in a weaker conference over 1 in a tougher conference (Spurs still hanging around). But then Ainge and McHale had been talking about a Garnett trade a couple years in advance - as McHale saw the writing on the wall. Just a bunch of fuckin BS back then and now, with Garnett's recent comments. Dude's full of shit. We made out better than Boston, anyway, in the long run. Probably would've only won a couple titles with Garnett, as well, because his knees were going at the time. But still. Just don't appreciate Garnett lying about shit concerning Kobe. " Kobe didn't answer my call..never got back to me. " BS. Kobe had just come out of the playoff series VS the Suns, LAL having gotten ripped in 5 games - and he was pissed. Ordered Dr. Buss to " do something. " Garnett's just full of shit, always has been. Flat out wrong for trying to pin that fuckery on a dead Kobe Bryant
Doc Buss did his share of handshake deals in his day, and got screwed a few times. Handshake deal with Philly's owner for Barkley. Worthy for Barkley..which would've sucked because Worthy might be my fave ever, but he was on his way down and Barkley was MVP caliber at the time. Glad West was able to stop Doc's handshake deal with Dallas to send Worthy and Byron there for Tarpley and Aguirre. Something tells me Doc was only trying to make Magic happy again, though, because Magic and Aguirre were BFFs back then. Aguirre ended up going to play with his other BFF - Isaiah - instead
Doc didn't make many mistakes. Big Game for Aguirre might have been the biggest. Tarpley would have been a disaster.
Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Fuels Rumors He’s Headed to Lakers With Latest Comments “I think that would be amazing,” Giannis said of playing on the same team as his brothers. “Obviously, we’d spend more time together, and I’m 100 percent sure my mom would love that,” he said, before adding: “But if we could like team up on a team, Milwaukee, LA, whatever, that would be awesome.”
Aguirre coming aboard would've probably been similar to Glen Rice and his run with Kobe and Shaq. Win a championship and then ask for a trade, so he can go somewhere else and play his game again
He's not a very good basketball player. However, he is a close friend of Paul George - sort of explains that addition
At this point, just hoping Rondo will do his thing in the playoffs. One thing that can be said for Rondo - no matter what - nobody in the league is smarter. Not from a basketball standpoint, and maybe not even from a general standpoint. Guy is a math genius on top of being incredibly thorough with game-plans when facing the same opponent over and over again for 4-7 games. Rather have his brain on board than Reggie Jackson
MIL fans are so triggered on Twitter right now. Lol Hope they boo Giannis and make his decision an easy one. For the Lakers, though, definitely an easy decision - fuck dem BBB's. It's all about dem AAA's in life. Big Antetokounmpo Brand. Sign all the brothers
They should kiss his ass until the day he leaves. He is the best thing they'll experience as Bucks fans their entire fandom. Better hope Middelton doesn't choke in the postseason again. Going to need to win a title to have any hope of keeping him. And if they win a title and he leaves? Well you got a title out of it and that is something most fans never experience.
Not sure if MIL fans know any better. So rare for them to have a Top 5 player. The league has even given Giannis a couple practice runs in being GM and picking his own team, thanks to the new all-star team selection process. Lol 1 king + 1 brow + 3 freaks + 1 bald eagle = 6peat
