    What the media does and how the government reacts is the realm of the critics like yourself, and so many others. And most of it is justified and valid. Everyone knows what the media is and has become.
    But I get a sense of " it's not really so bad" from you over and over.
    What abortions and suicide has to do with those who are dying and intubated by the thousands even though the numbers aren't what originally predicted, to those individuals and families of such, and who are still facing the horrors of those losses, escapes me, big time.
    No matter what Garcetti says or any other jerkoff in office spouts out of their gob.
    In my world, your mantra is apples and oranges.

    So I tend to (mostly) agree with you here that COVID-19 is much more serious that the typical flu and comparing to flu, abortions, accidents, etc. is gaslighting and not really an argument.

    But not I'm going to talk out of the other side of my mouth.
    So early on it looked like Case Fatality Rate was 3-4%, which if left to run amok through the US population until herd immunity developed would lead to something like 5+million deaths. Ok, that might make sense to ruin the economy for that.
    Clearly now its looking like the CFR might be lower than 2%, which unchecked would lead to ~3M dead.
    There's some evidence from populations where everyone has been tested (cruise ships) that the CFR is <1%. Now we're talking 1.5M dead.
    Now there's a study from heavily tested populations in Iceland, Italy, and Germany that the CFR is 0.39%. That's <600,000 dead.

    Every death is a tragedy. But at what point is this an overreaction?
    Every year, 50k or so die from the flu, and we don't take peoples jobs away, put them on house arrest, create 6 Trillion in debt, and generally trample the constitution.

    Covid 14 was killing people in 3 days back in 2015.
    There is no emergency. They already knew the rates of death.
    Nothing in the news including the news about when the news told you the news is real.
    The news already knew the news long before it presented it to you as news.
    It was all a calculated hit on industries who needed to be slowed down so a the new order of industries to rise.
    We never innovate in a vacuum.
    Any new tech or social movement has to hit us over the head overwhelmingly before we leave an older model.
    Even if the older model has proven to be inferior in every way... we wont just leave it to abandon the new one.
    Not en masse.
    Unless we are overwhelmed en masse.
    One way or another.

    If Jesus gets the credit and there is a miracle behind that, then I'm all for it.
    It would just be nice if people stopped dying all around here ( and so many other places), no matter how fucked up the media is...as we used to say in the newspaper business...that's not exactly a scoop.
    And I agree with Tafnac that they shouldn't exaggerate so. Almost...
    But like many posters have written, people are fucking stupid. Where do they all come from? Every fucking nook and cranny across this great land. And without the exaggeration, the dire predictions, the woeful/doomsayers bullshit, the core dolts that are everywhere, will just act like it's a 'rain tomorrow' weather report.
    Sometimes you have to scare the shit out of people to get them to act halfway intelligently for the common good.
    And for the illuminati who know better, it's simply a wink, wink situation.

    Btw, I'm not saying you're wrong. Everyone has got a different take on this. It's not important to be right, only if this shit goes away. This is all you get...it isn't dress rehearsal.
    Personally, I cant see throwing caution to the wind to any degree because the media sucks and some people feel their rights infringed upon. And because other inequalities and problems aren't addressed to the same degree
    Maybe I'm wrong and I have the bad take on it all. Idk. Could well be so.
    But I'm old, have underlying health issues and feel like there's a target on my back.
    Eye of the beholder and all that shit...

    Watching Bernie rattle off "Racist, Sexist, Xenophobic, Homophobic, Religious Bigot," it reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld where George wants to date Marissa Tomei.

    At the beginning of the episode, he's excited she's into funny, bald men.

    Later, Geroge reiterates:

    GEORGE: (worked up) I'm aware! I'm aware!! But this is Marisa Tomei, Elaine.
    An Oscar winner! How can I live the rest of my life, knowing I coulda been
    with Marisa Tomei? She said I was just her type! She loves short, stocky,
    balding funny men!

    They literally just add to the list of "phobias" each and every time because 'what the hell', right?

    Voting fraud and a bad economy were the only two opportunities for the Dems to win in 2020. They are pushing hard for both. They'll refuse to open their states and make people vote by mail. At worst, they're behind this (tin foil hat on). At best they are trying to take advantage of a disaster.

    Worst humans on planet Earth.

    Those plague masks doctors used to wear were long so they could be stuffed with rags soaked in essential oils to purify the air as it made its way to their lungs. Either the expensive holy blend of Frankincense, Myrrh, and Cedarwood or the thieves blend of Cloves, Cinnamon, Rosemary, Eucalyptus and Lemon/Orange peel.
    Back in the day everyone of class had to wear a mask not just the cleric and rogue classes.
    The wizards and warriors had their own masks stuffed with essential oils that helped them survive.
    I think that counts as suggesting.
