As long as it is healthy. Don't know what exactly that does to his overwhelmingly disappointing turn as an LAD, but I wish him and his family the best.
And I'm told the Rapa Nui school system is tops of the pops.

    • More Dodgers on the no show list: Tony Gonsolin, Scott Alexander and Keibert Ruiz. They join Pollock, Lux, Price and Baez as Dodgers who have been reported to not have shown up yet or are out. Ruiz is the only Dodgers player that has been confirmed to have a positive Covid test.
    • Max Muncy took a pitch off his finger on Sunday and is considered day to day.
    • Clayton Kershaw will be the opening day starter. For the Buehler Stan's, he has mentioned that he is worried that he will not be 100% ready to go by opening day as he is considered a slow starter.
    • Dustin May is supposedly ready to go and is expected to be ready to go 5 innings by the start of the season. For those that forget, May was injured on the first day of camp and started tossing again on the last day before the Covid shutdown. May used the time during the shutdown to get a better feel for his curve and change up. He also hit 99 over the weekend.

It doesn’t change the fact that he struck out 11 times in 13 ABs as a professional baseball player, but that he might have a legit reason to opt out of the season and I wish him and his family well. Honestly, it’s a win-win for all of us.

Something that I have seen getting tossed about is how dangerous teams like the Blue Jays, Rays and Padres could be this season. The reason being that these clubs have young star potential players that are on the cusp of getting called up. With the current system in place, these teams will likely give extended looks to their young players in attempt for them to catch fire and catapult them into the playoffs. Since it is not totally uncommon for a rookie to come in and catch absolute fire for a stretch, there is a belief that these teams could take full advantage of not only the short time to find quirks to make adjustments, but could also capitalize on scouts not being allowed into the stands that would delay the eventual adjustment period. The Padres for instance are expected to give top pitching prospects Mackenzie Gore and Luis Patino early looks.

The Dodgers are another club that could take advantage of this as they have 3 perceived high impact MLB ready arms in Dustin May, Brusdar Graterol and Tony Gonsolin, plus the rumors of Josiah Gray being ahead of schedule where they too could ride a wave of young arms to their benefit. Where the Dodgers are hurt is they don't have the young bats that some other clubs do that could catch fire for a couple of weeks or months outside of Gavin Lux... who seems to be experiencing his own Covid related issues.

A couple other intriguing guys on the Summer Camp Roster:
    • Gerardo Carrillo- His name is an intriguing addition as he could be someone to watch out of the pen later on. He turned some heads in the AFL last year when his fastball was routinely hitting triple digits with some serious movement. His command is a serious issue and his secondaries can be spotty, but he could come in and blow some smoke for an inning ala Dustin May, 2019.
    • Michael Grove- The 2018 2nd round pick did not make Buehler like waves last year when he came back from Tommy John. Some underlying issues were brought up that added hope to the one time top draft prospect in that while his stuff was obviously not back yet, he was seeing success in the weak contact variety. Then there was this report early in camp "Dodgers officials are buzzing about righthander Michael Grove on the backfields at Camelback Ranch. Grove, the Dodgers’ second-round pick in 2018, is up to 97 mph with his fastball while showing increased bite on his breaking ball.
Grove, 23, had Tommy John surgery in college at West Virginia and was still rehabbing when the Dodgers drafted him. He returned to the mound last year and sat 89-93 mph at high Class A Rancho Cucamonga early before bumping up to 92-95 mph in his final few starts.
Now in his second year removed from surgery, Grove’s stuff has ticked up so much that one Dodgers’ front office official predicted he will be the club’s top pitching prospect at this time next year."
This likely means more bullpen option than starter, but the fact that the club put him on the Summer Camp roster is really interesting.
Now there are certainly more prospects on the Summer Camp roster, but the rest are either prospects that we have either talked about more than enough already or are only on the roster due to their upside and the club wanting these guys to get reps. For one, we are not going to see Diego Cartaya this year, nor are we likely to see Edwin Uceta, Omar Estevez or Andre Jackson and god help us if Rocky Gale finds playing time.

Dodger baseball feels like an old friend who moved away. The whole world changed since the last time you saw each other and no matter how much you want it to be like the good old days, it just isn't.

Congratulations to one Chris Cooper ( the black dude in the Central Pk. fiasco with the jerkoff woman calling the cops saying she was being attacked, etc.), for saying he doesn't intend on cooperating the the NY DA on prosecuting her further...paraphrasing him: " she had her dog taken from her, and she lost her job...it really feels like piling on now".
Bravo, dude. For being a decent, good man. And having some real class in a world needing it so badly
If I could, I would shake your hand.
    But I'm not allowed.

Chico 97 jerseys would have been a thing this season if we weren’t going through a pandemic

I don't know if anyone caught last nights game. I watched for a bit, but noticed that Seager looks like he has bulked back up a bit. From what I am also hearing, he has looked really good at the plate thus far. Hopefully he can hold it together for the shortened season.

If you did watch, did anyone catch Michael Grove pitching? I am only seeing it in a couple of twitter posts, but it sounds like Grove looked really good last night.

They were broadcasting the game on FB and Twitter Live, but it was only the pitcher and catcher shot from CF. The first 28 minutes is on their page, but did not get me to where I wanted with Grove.
