There is a rich history of poor command/plus stuff starters being molded into bullpen weapons

lol and now Walker Buehler to the DL with a blister issue. Thin rotation gets thinner. Mitch White looks to be getting the start in game 2 today.

Cleveland is said to want outfield help that they can plug in immediately, and the Dodgers view Joc as expendable. IF there was a deal with Cleveland, then most likely Joc would be involved, no doubt - but there's a huge gap in value between Clevinger and Joc. Joc would be an ancillary piece to any deal, the real value would come in other pieces.

The sneaky player who could come up in talks is AJ Pollock, who has 2 more years of team control after this year and he could provide more veteran leadership. The Dodgers would likely have to pay some of his salary, but with Bellinger and Betts locked into the OF in the foreseeable future, that doesn't leave a lot of room for Pollock. Like Joc, Pollock would be an ancillary piece to something bigger, but I could see Cleveland valuing Pollock + cash more than Joc.

I think that we have to remember that things have not exactly been clicking. Chances are that the struggles will fix themselves.

Urias WILL. Be better. I think they are calling terrible games with Urias. Pitch selection is all wrong.

May has not exactly been pitching well. Yes, the Dodgers have been winning when he pitches but again, I feel that the ouch selection is waaay too predictable. Way too much contact. Burnt pitches. The team know what is being pitched so the are fouling off the good pitches.

Stripling is far too hittable. He's not using his good pitches. I'm starting to sense a theme.

Beuheler has had ONE good game.

I'm not sure if the catchers are calling bad games or if Prior is changing strategy but I KNOW that the pitches are too obvious. I REALLY dislike Will Smith's game calling. Barnes is average in my mind.

Maybe one little tweak to the pitching strategy could change everything?

Calling a good game behind the dish is critical and underrated. I’m biased tho

I think you've taken a few too many foul tips off the mask.

Better off the mask than off the cup. Our coach at Fresno (a former catcher) was brutal on the catchers. Poor fuckers had to block a certain number of pitches in the dirt before they could go in from practice. It worked. They were all good receivers and (gasp) they called (along with the pitchers) their own games.

I’m teaching my freshman and sophomores how to call their own games and we’re doing it in live simulated ABs. Let’s just say lots of room for growth.
